Town center closes

The Weilerbach town center will be closed for traffic from Monday until April 22. Motorists should follow the detour signs and obey the “do not park” signs.

Blood drive

The Armed Services Blood Program-Europe will be conducting the following blood drives:

  • Monday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court
  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court
  • April 3: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Vogelweh Crossroads Community Center Skating Rink/E-Street Cafe
  • April 10: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Landstuhl Heaton Auditorium
  • April 11: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 603rd Air and Space Operations Center, Bldg. 570, on Ramstein
  • April 12: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hall of Champions Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105, Baumholder

Passport office closes

The Ramstein Passport Office will be closed Thursday to allow all passport agents to attend training at the U.S. Consulate. They will not reopen until April 3, as March 31 is a U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Family Day. For emergencies, contact the 786th Force Support Squadron ID Card Office at 480-6599 or 06371-476599.

Retiree luncheon

The next retiree luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 31 at the Kaiserslautern Military Community food court activity room. There will be an information presentation by Veterans Affairs. Program for military spouses

The FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship program is now accepting applications for the 2017 class. Applications are accepted online at www.militaryspouseafcpe.org through April 21. The fellowship program certifies military spouses to provide financial counseling and education within the military community and beyond. The FINRA Foundation covers the costs of the program coursework and testing for the self-study program. Upon successful completion of the program, FINRA Foundation fellows are awarded the Accredited Financial Counselor certification from The Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education. The program helps military spouses achieve career goals and aspirations and enhance job-related marketability, all while developing personal financial management skills.

Estate claims

Anyone having any claims on or obligations to the estate of Pfc. Kendaris Robinson of the 66th Transportation Company, 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, should contact the summary court officer, 1st Lt. Kyle Hensley, at 493-2455.

New parking passes

Kaiserslautern established new parking zones. Residents with parking passes need to go to the Buergercenter in the Rathaus city hall to get a new parking pass for their area. The exchange of passes is free. For details, call 0631-365-2538.

Garbage guide app

The waste management office of the County Administration Kaiserslautern is offering the Garbage Guide KL County app for KMC residents. The app includes the amended refuse collection plans, a reminder function for the collection days and a lot of information about waste management.
