» The Rheinland-Pfalz Library celebrates Fairy Tales at the Library with fairy tales and magical creatures from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Landstuhl Library in Bldg. 3810. » The annual Kaiserslautern Comicon will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court on Ramstein. There will be face painting, comics, T-shirts, a costume contest and prizes to win. For details, visit www.facebook.com/kcon15.

» Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation is holding a Volunteer Appreciation Week Facebook photo campaign Wednesday to April 17 to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week. All USAG Rheinland-Pfalz registered volunteers can post a photo of a volunteer in action to the Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR Facebook page for a chance to nominate a volunteer to win a free Outdoor Recreation express trip to Disneyland, Paris on May 16. Family and MWR will select four random winners per day, for five days, giving away 20 trips to Disneyland. Be sure to follow the contest guidelines when posting your photo. » DIY Bookend Contest takes place during the month of April. The Rheinland-Pfalz libraries at Landstuhl and Kleber Kaserne want to see people’s best and most creative designs for a do-it-yourself bookend. Completed entries must be submitted no later than April 30 to the Landstuhl Library in Bldg. 3810 or the Kleber Branch Library in Bldg. 3205. » Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation hosts Eggstravaganza, an annual Easter egg hunt and celebration, April 4 at Pulaski Park. Gates open at 10 a.m., Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail arrive at 10:30 and the egg hunt begins at 11. The event is for children 12 and under. » The Ramstein Officers’ Club will have a Champagne Easter Brunch from 11 to 1 p.m. April 5. Member adults pay $28.95, member youth $14.95, non-member adults $33.95, non-member youth $19.95. » Open Auditions for Moon Over Buffalo: Open auditions for Moon Over Buffalo at 7 p.m. April 14 and 15. This comedy calls for four women and four men, ages 18 and older. Auditions are open to everyone and no previous experience is required. Wear clothing that allows you to move freely for the audition. Material will be available at the audition for cold readings. Scripts will be available to check out in advance.

» Moon Over Buffalo: Show dates are at 7:30 p.m. May 29 and 30 and June 5, 6, 12 and 13, and 3 p.m. June 7 and 14.

» Young Frankenstein: Show dates are at 7:30 p.m. April 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18, and 3 p.m. April 12 and 19. This production is recommended for mature audiences.

» 2015 IMCOM-E Army Entertainment Tournament of Plays Awards Show: 6 p.m. April 25 at Armstrong’s Club. Reservations are only available through the community entertainment director. Cost is $25 per person. Advanced reservations and payment are required.

 


Armstrong’s Club Events
Armstrong’s Club is located in Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Family Housing. Call 0631-354-9986 for details. Unless otherwise stated, events have no cover charge and are open to all ID cardholders and their guests, 18 and over.

» Karaoke Superstar Competition: The finale will take place at 8 p.m. today. The karaoke superstars have sung their hearts out for the past three weekends and they are ready for the final round. People’s votes will help determine who walks away with the $300 grand prize.

» 2015 BGCA European Regional ImageMakers Exhibit: Monday, the Landstuhl Youth Center showcases the winners of local BGCA ImageMakers competitions Europe-wide. Photographs are by youth, ages 6 to 18. A ribbon cutting ceremony and judging takes place at 5 p.m., and winners will be announced.

» Easter Brunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5. Reservations required by today. Tickets cost $19.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 5 to 16 years old and free for children under 4. » Comedy show featuring Pierre, David Young and I am Prelow:  April 11, doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Armstrong’s Club for $25 or $30 at the door.

» 2015 Installation Management Command-Europe Topper Awards Ceremony: April 25. No-host bar, 5 to 6 p.m.; awards show, 6 p.m.; Cake cutting and coffee, 9 p.m. Cost is $25 per person.
