After a year’s worth of preparation and thousands of volunteer hours, the 48th annual Ramstein Welfare Bazaar is now open, and it’s time to come out and shop!

The ribbon cutting took place Thursday. For more than four decades, the KMC has benefited from the Ramstein Welfare Bazaar. Last year, the bazaar generated more than $270,000 in proceeds, and 100 percent of the money was returned to the military community.

More than 140 vendors are set up and ready for shoppers. Don’t miss the many unique items, such as antique furniture, rugs, crystal, wine, pottery, cheese, home decor, leather goods, toys and much more. In just the last six years, more than $1.75 million has been raised and given back to the KMC.

No trip to the bazaar would be complete without trying some of the fantastic food. Bring the family and enjoy the many, unique delights in the food vendor area. With more than 25 different food vendors, you are bound to find lots of great choices served by various non-profit organizations from base.

Be sure to purchase your tickets for the public drawing in the giant tent. Prizes have been donated by our amazing vendors. A Kinder Korner set up next to the Red Cross tent will provide parents with a place to take care of infants and toddlers. No pets are allowed on the bazaar grounds.

The Ramstein Welfare Bazaar runs until Sunday in Hangars 1 and 2 and the giant tent. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Entrance is free and open to U.S. or NATO forces ID holders.

To get to the bazaar, follow event signs toward the flightline. A stroller day will be held today.
