Rooney’s Purveyor of Quality Food and Drink opened its doors to the public June 1. The newly branded 86th Force Support Squadron restaurant, which replaces the Sports Lounge in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, has a new look, a new menu, and a passion for quality food and outstanding customer service.

Rooney’s manager, David Barnes, described Rooney’s new look as having an iconic American sports feel.

“The new restaurant is decorated with black and white images of classic American sports heroes, sporting events and other iconic cultural moments,” he said. “Rooney’s new menu is big on variety and quality.”

The new Rooney’s menu features signature, hand-packed burgers and delicious breaded and non-breaded wings, all of which were carried over from the Sports Lounge menu due to overwhelming popularity. The menu also features new favorites, such as dry-rubbed baby back ribs (a huge hit at the recent opening) and homemade chips and salsa.

Hungry yet? The friendly staff at Rooney’s is waiting to serve you.

“We’re all here to have a good time and to make sure you have a good time,” said bartender Terry Cunningham. “My co-workers and I simply enjoy interacting with customers, and it shows.”

Rooney’s patron, Jerome Favors, who won a ticket to one of the new restaurant’s first seatings, said his experience at Rooney’s has been good.

“The staff is really nice and professional,” he said.

With good food, a nice atmosphere and great customer service, Rooney’s is poised for success.

Rooney’s is conveniently located in the KMCC directly across from Ramstein Tickets and Tours and upstairs from the main lodging lobby and Outdoor Recreation.

Rooney’s is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will feature specials and promotions throughout the summer in celebration of its grand opening.
