KMC Scholarship applications

KMC Scholarship 2017 applications are now available for download at www.kmcscholarships.org. Spouse applications and university applications are due Wednesday at the Ramstein Officers’ Club; drop-off times are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Graduating senior applications are due during lunch periods Thursday and March 3 at Ramstein High School and Kaiserslautern High School. Scholarship funds are donated by the Kaiserslautern Landstuhl Spouses’ Association, Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club and the Ramstein Enlisted Spouses’ Association. KMC Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, current university students and spouses of active-duty service members, retired military and Department of Defense civilians residing in the KMC. Scholarships are awarded solely on merit and academic achievement, with no regard to race, color, creed, religion or disability. Financial need is not taken into consideration.

Volunteers, donations needed

Landstuhl Elementary Middle School is looking for volunteers to help with the Parent Teacher Student Association Spring Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday March 25 on Landstuhl, Bldg. 3830. Volunteers are needed for various activities and hours on the day of the carnival, including face painters, balloon animal creators, game and prize room helpers, and more. If you are able to volunteer your time on the day of carnival, sign up at www.signupgenius.com/go/5080d4da5ac28a6fd0-landstuhl. If you would like to organize an activity at the carnival, contact julie.wittenberg@eu.dodea.edu. Additionally, donations for the silent auction and raffle baskets, used-book sale and stuffed animal walk are needed. LEMS Spring Carnival, Chili Cook-Off

Landstuhl Elementary Middle School hosts its Parent Teacher Student Association Spring Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday March 25 in Landstuhl, Bldg. 3830. Come and enjoy food, games, a silent auction and raffle baskets, prizes, face painting, used-book sale and more. The annual Chili Cook-Off will also be held during the carnival. Highlight a Child

Highlight a Child is an event to highlight children and their talents in the community, as part of Child Abuse Awareness Month programming. The theme is, “Safer Communities, Safer Children.” Five groups of children will dance and sing from 6 to 8 p.m. April. 28 at the Landstuhl Community Center, Bldg. 3780. There will be an art contest project for school, and the winning project will be displayed at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center main Exchange. Toddler Storytime

Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl hosts a storytime for toddlers ages 2 to 3 years old at 10:30 a.m. every Monday. This entertaining event includes stories, music, flannel board and activities for young children and their parents in order to promote educational development and reading readiness. Tots and Tales Storytime

Tots and Tales Storytime at Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl is an entertaining event with flannel board fun, fingerplays, songs, activities and nursery rhymes. It promotes educational development and reading readiness in young children, ages 12 to 24 months. Tots and Tales Storytime is held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Tuesday. Sign up in advance.
