Dr. Seuss celebration

A Dr. Seuss celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 at Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812. Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Army Europe Libraries, and Child, Youth and School Services join together to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, who is considered to be one of America’s greatest authors. The event will feature guest readers, games, hands-on activities, story time, a puppet show, a meet and greet with several Seussian characters and more. Members of the community are invited to bring the entire family. Registration is not required for this free event. Fancy Nancy Tea Party

You’re invited to a tea party. Join Child, Youth and School Services and Rheinland-Pfalz Library for the Fancy Nancy Tea Party from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Landstuhl Community Club, Bldg. 3780. Dress in your finest tea party clothes, learn proper tea manners, enjoy high tea and participate in craft activities. Open to ages 3 to 7 years old, accompanied by an adult. This event is free. Space is limited to 80 participants – availability is on a first come, first served basis. Take Your Child to the Library Day

Saturday is Take Your Child to the Library Day. This is an international initiative that enourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Stop by and visit the Rheinland-Pfalz Library at Landstuhl to check out the wonderful children’s materials and even register for a library card for free. Teen Dating Violence Awareness

In acknowledgement of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program will host a number of special activities for teens during February:

• 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday: Teen Skating Night at Crossroads Skating Rink on Vogelweh, Bldg. 2053

• 6 p.m. Feb. 19: Teen Movie Night at Wagon Wheel Theater on Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8125

• 6 to 9 p.m Feb. 20: Teen Cosmic Bowling Night at Vogelweh Bowling Center, Bldg. 2060

• 6 p.m. Feb. 26: Teen Movie Night Exchange Reel Time Theater on Ramstein in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, Bldg. 3336

• 6 to 8 p.m Feb. 27: Teen Cosmic Bowling Night at Strikers Bowling Center on Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8105

CYSS parent satisfaction survey

Parents, your opinion matters. Be heard and make a difference. Child, Youth and School Services hosts their annual satisfaction survey Monday to Feb. 19. Parents can fill the survey out online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/NBMRSCL. A direct link can also be found on our website, www.kaiserslautern.armymwr.com. Parents who complete the survey will receive a coupon for five “Parent Participation Points.” Earn 10 points and receive a $10 discount on your full or part-time childcare fees.

Pit Stop Racing Day

Come on down to Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl, Bldg. 3810, from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 20 and bring your race cars. Enjoy car races, crafts and more. You may even trade your race cars if you wish. This event is open to all ages and everyone who loves cars. No registration required. Clubs at Landstuhl School Age Center

Did you know that Landstuhl School Age Center has several different clubs open to students, grades one to five? The different weekly clubs include cooking, sewing, robotics and film. Registration with Child, Youth and School Services is required. Enrollment fees are based on total family income. Youth guitar lessons

SKIESUnlimited now offers guitar lessons for youth ages 9 to 18 years old. Lessons are available by appointment at beginner and advanced levels. Participants are asked to bring an acoustic guitar, notebook and pencil. Kindermusik

Kindermusik is a musical program that nurtures young children’s development in the areas of language, social, emotional and physical skills. SKIESUnlimited offers Kindermusik classes for youth in three age categories: Cuddle and Bounce, ages 0 to 18 months; Wiggle and Grow, ages 18 months to 3 years; and Laugh and Learn, ages 3 to 5 years. Open to all branches of service. Computer-assisted piano class

SKIESUnlimited is offering a computer-assisted piano class to help students learn how to play piano. Students receive both a 30-minute individual lesson and a 30-minute interactive piano lesson at a workstation with a stand-alone computer. Students are asked to bring piano books and other teaching materials they may have from previous piano lessons. The class is offered Mondays and Thursdays on Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2901, and in Landstuhl, Bldg. 3819. Open to all branches of service for children ages 4 to 18 years old. Tots and Tales Storytime

Tots and Tales Storytime at Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl is an entertaining event with flannel board fun, fingerplays, songs, activities and nursery rhymes. It promotes educational development and reading readiness in young children, ages 12 to 24 months. Tots and Tales storytime is held at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Sign up in advance. KMC Teen Shuttle

Child, Youth and School Services offer a KMC Teen Shuttle service. Pick-up and drop-off points are located throughout Vogelweh, Vogelweh Housing, Ramstein and Landstuhl. ID card, shuttle card and permissions slips are required to ride the shuttle. Installation Management Command Europe is proud to announce the availability of a comprehensive driver’s education program for high school students in Europe.
