Free lacrosse clinics

Free lacrosse clinics will be open to children ages 8 to 18 years old from 10 a.m. to noon May 13 in Landstuhl, and April 23 on Pulaski Barracks. Registration is currently open. Swim coach needed

The Kaiserslautern Kingfish Swim Team is seeking a new head coach who is available to start May 1. Potential candidates will be contacted by the Kingfish president. If interested, send your inquiry along with your resume to President@kingfishswimteam.com. Coaches that are selected must be identified at the time of hiring if they are paid or volunteer. Changes cannot be made in a coach’s pay status unless approved by the coach and the board. Required qualifications include AED/CPR and first aid, ASCA Level 2 certified or above, extensive experience working with children and teenagers, strong background in competitive swimming and must have at least two years of supervisory experience.

Unit-level volleyball championship

Watch the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz volleyball championship game from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kleber Sports and Fitness Center on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3235. Entry is free. The top six teams from the season league will participate. Awards will be given to the first and second teams, first place individual and most valuable player. The first and second place teams will advance to the Installation Management Command – Europe tournament.

Yoga Salutes Nonviolence

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and the Regional Health Command Europe’s SHARP Program is partnering up with U.S. Army Garrison Rhineland Pfalz Morale Welfare and Recreation in bringing the “Yoga Salutes Nonviolence” 108 Sun Salutation Challenge April 22 at Sembach Fitness Center. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness that sexual violence is not tolerated, to support survivors as they heal and to honor the people who diligently work every day to end interpersonal violence. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the event starts at 10:30 a.m. To register and receive times and locations, call or drop by the Massage and Yoga Studio on Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2899, or any Army Fitness Center. This is a free training for the event. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, pillow, blanket and the spirit of community.

Youth cheer, tumbling classes

SKIESUnlimited offers cheer and tumbling classes for youth, ages 6 to 18 years old. Classes help to improve strength, flexibility, jumps and tumbling. Classes are offered on a monthly basis at the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Events Center, Bldg. 237. Open to all branches of service. Karate Tech classes

Check out SKIESUnlimited Karate Tech classes. Karate Tech is the modern fusion of six traditional martial arts all in one. It provides a complete system of personal defense for youth ages 5 to 18 years old. Participants will learn confidence, body balance, perseverance, patience, self-mastery sparring and forms.
