IMCOM-E basketball championships

Come support our U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz representatives in the Installation Management Command-Europe basketball tournament today to Sunday at the Kleber Fitness Center Bldg. 3235. The best unit-level teams from all over Europe will compete to become champion of the continent. A mandatory coaches meeting will be held at 9 a.m., and opening ceremonies start at 10 a.m. An awards ceremony will immediately follow the championship game. Memorial 5K

The 86th Vehicle Readiness Squadron booster club will sponsor the 6th annual A1C Zachary Cuddeback Memorial 5K starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ramstein South Side Fitness Center. Free soccer clinic

For one day only, the soccer coaches from Georgia Southern University will be in the KMC offering a free soccer clinic for children ages 8 to 18 years old from 1 to 5 p.m. March 12. Youth spring sports registration

Get your children into something fun this spring! Youth Sports registration will be open through March 15. Sports offered: baseball, softball and soccer for ages 5 to 15 years old; and track and field, tennis and golf for ages 8 to 15 years old. Season begins in April. Volunteers are needed! Free lacrosse clinics

Free lacrosse clinics will be open to children ages 8 to 18 years old from 10 a.m. to noon March 25 and May 13 in Landstuhl, and April 23 on Pulaski Barracks. Registration is currently open. Start Smart soccer, baseball

Help your child “start smart” and begin loving the games of soccer and baseball.  Start Smart is a program to teach young children the motor skills necessary to eventually play soccer or baseball by using positive reinforcement, fun activities and exciting equipment on a one-on-one basis with their parent. Open to children ages 3 to 4 years old. There will be weekly 45-minute sessions for six weeks offered from 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Landstuhl and/or Sembach Kaserne. Choose your day when signing up. Cost: $25 for six 45-minute sessions. Registration is open until March 15. Ladies golf sign-ups

The Woodlawn Ladies Golf Association will sponsor a ladies golf sign-up from 10 a.m. to noon March 25 at the Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. Ladies’ Day is every Tuesday, and there are both morning and early evening tee times. Play begins for the first session on April 4. April Fool’s Day Fun Run

Join the April Fool’s Day 5k Fun Run April 1 at the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. Wear your craziest hat for a chance to win a foolish prize. Beware of pranksters on the course, you could get wet! First 100 to sign up get a free T-shirt. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. the day of the run; the race begins at 10 a.m. Children under 12 are free; adults are $7. Dog and stroller friendly. Refreshments will be provided. SKIESUnlimited offers cheer and tumbling classes for youth, ages 6 to 18 years old. Classes help to improve strength, flexibility, jumps and tumbling. Karate Tech classes

Check out SKIESUnlimited Karate Tech classes. Karate Tech is the modern fusion of six traditional martial arts all in one. It provides a complete system of personal defense for youth ages 5 to 18 years old. Participants will learn confidence, body balance, perseverance, patience, self-mastery sparring and forms. Beginner and beginner-intermediate levels are offered at various times for various prices. Open to all branches of service. Parent exercise room

The Landstuhl and Sembach fitness centers each bring you an exercise room for parents that features the latest in cardio equipment and offers a play area for your little ones to safely play or watch movies while you work out. The exercise rooms are both open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. holidays. Youth basketball club

An open basketball club for youth ages 12 to 17 years old is held from 4 to 5 p.m. every Monday from September to June at the Realschule on Schernauer Strasse 31, Ramstein-Miesenbach, in the Sporthalle. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes

SKIESUnlimited now offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in two different levels: Little Grapplers, ages 5 to 17 years old; and Bully Busters, ages 8 to 13 years old. Each level teaches basic self-defense techniques while instilling the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu foundational principles of leverage and control. Bully Busters focuses on a set curriculum of nonviolent, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based self-defense techniques that teach children to neutralize and negotiate with bullies. WELLBEATS™ now available

WELLBEATS™ programs are now available at all U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz fitness centers. Formerly known as Fitness On Request, WELLBEATS™ provides a safe place for newcomers to learn and master the fundamentals of dozens of classes, including yoga, Pilates, step, dance, cycling, kickboxing, strength training, pre- and post-natal and more. Classes are 35 to 50 minutes in length, and there is no cost. Classes may be reserved for Soldier physical training from 6 to 7:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays.
