May carnival offers Dollar Day today
Kaiserslautern’s May carnival at Messeplatz fairgrounds continues today to Monday. Today is Dollar Day, when most vendors and ride owners let American customers pay in their own currency at an exchange rate of one to one. The carnival closes out with a fireworks display after darkness Monday, around 10 p.m. Traditionally during May carnival, stores in the center are open 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. — Photo by City of Kaiserslautern
