Historical village market in Dannenfels 
Dannenfels, a village north of Steinbach at the foot of Donnersberg hill, will revive old traditions Saturday and Sunday during its historical village market. Visitors can experience how life was in former times. They can watch people in traditional costumes presenting former craftsmanships such as spinning, weaving and threshing. The cancer association, Mom/Dad has Cancer, a part of the Cancer Society Rheinland-Pfalz, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a charity run Sept. 6 in Kaiserslautern under the auspices of Lord Mayor Dr. Klaus Weichel.

86th SFS offers free bicycle engravings
A serial number is engraved into a bicycle during a free bicycle engraving event at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center Aug. 20 on Ramstein. The 86th Security Forces Squadron, in cooperation with Police Headquarters Westpfalz in Kaiserslautern, offers free engravings to military members and their families to help protect against bicycle theft. Each bicycle receives a unique serial number and certificate for identification.
