A dancing group, or “Jugendgarde,” from the dance club "Unterhaltungsverein Miesenbach Miesenbacher Viellaeppcher" perform a traditional dance during a kinder Fasching celebration Jan. 25 on Ramstein. The entertainment club is one of the biggest carnival clubs in West Palatinate with nearly 400 members.

Sam E. Parish, retired chief master sergeant of the Air Force, interacts with Airmen of the 721st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Jan. 27 on Ramstein. Airmen from the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing had an opportunity to meet Parish and discuss the differences between when Parish enlisted and the current Air Force. Parish was the guest speaker at a variety of venues including Airman Leadership School, squadron all calls and the chief induction ceremony as part of his visit.

Ramstein hosted the eighth chief master sergeant of the Air Force for a base visit Jan. 25 to 29.
Sam E. Parish, retired chief master sergeant of the Air Force, spoke with more than 700 of the Air Force’s newest chiefs and future NCOs throughout his visit.

Health Corner: Health notice for countries, territories with active Zika virus transmission – Feb. 5, 2016

In response to reports in Brazil of microcephaly, a birth defect where a baby’s head is smaller than expected, and other poor pregnancy outcomes in babies of mothers who were infected with the Zika virus while pregnant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a travel alert for people traveling to regions and certain countries where Zika virus transmission is ongoing. The notice is an Alert Level 2 that calls for travelers to follow enhanced precautions or recommended preventive measures for these destinations.
