FRAPORT TERMINAL 3 – AIRLINES RELOCATING
STARTING APRIL 23, FRANKFURT AIRPORT
Terminal 3 with concourses G, H and J officially opened on April 22. Up to 57 airlines currently operating from Terminal 2 have already or will relocate in the next few weeks. After Terminal 3 is fully operational, Terminal 2 will undergo renovation and re-open upon completion.
Airlines are relocating in four phases (until June), so confirm your airline’s exact check‑in location before you travel. Lufthansa and affiliated Star Alliance airlines will remain in Terminal 1. Affected carriers in Terminal 3 include Air France; British Airways; Delta Air Lines; Emirates; Qatar Airways; Etihad; American Airlines; and Korean Air. HEXENNACHT (WITCHES NIGHT) AND MAY DA,

Beware of little “witches” performing mischief and pranks on the evening of April 30. Youngsters may roam villages and “decorate” your car or lamp post with toilet paper or “steal” your trash can or small items in your yard. Be sure to store any easily accessible objects in your garage or backyard. May 1 is a German holiday, based on a workers’ movement and all stores and official offices will be closed for business. In local tradition May poles are set up and decorated in villages, with young people guarding the poles overnight.
RAMSTEIN MEDIEVAL SPECTACLE
APRIL 24 – 26, MARKTPLATZ, RAMSTEIN
The historical reenactment is held on Ramstein´s market square and features various booths with vendors in medieval garments. The young and the old are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. Visitors can look forward to a varied program with live music, dance performances, fire show, gleeman and medieval food and drinks. Market hours are 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Over 50 private vendors will display well-kept children’s clothing and recreational items, such as kiddie seats, bikes and more. Coffee, cake, snacks and drinks will also be available.
GENUSSMARKT (GOURMET MARKET)

The Gourmet Market in Baumholder will offer a variety of regional and international specialties on the marketplace. More than 20 stalls invite visitors to linger, taste, and enjoy from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A meeting point for gourmets and friends of sociable hours. The idea of the gourmet market is based on the concept of the market breakfast in Mainz. There, people do not simply visit the weekly market but meet with friends to spend a few cozy hours with delicious food and wine. This ambiance is now also brought to Baumholder by the gourmet market – in line with the motto “Where friendship meets taste.” The gourmet market starts on the middle level of the marketplace in Baumholder.
GARDEN-ART-ENJOYMENT MARKET

An art and enjoyment weekend with a garden market in front of the abbey church will take place in Otterberg. For the sixth time, the popular Garden-Art-Enjoyment Market will be held on Sunday, April 27. The events offer a diverse program with art, music, culinary delights, and information about gardening and nature.
Over 60 selected exhibitors will present their handcrafted products in the areas of clay, wood, metal, fabric, paper, plants, and art. Visitors can look forward to numerous advisory and information booths, including a plant doctor who provides valuable tips for the new gardening season. Plants for your own garden can also be purchased.
Culinary specialties will be offered on Kirchstraße, including spit-roast meat, game and lamb products, as well as vegetarian dishes and steamed dumplings. The Alte Abtei invites guests for coffee and cake starting at 2 p.m.
The monastery garden will open and offer guided tours. There are also exciting activities for little visitors: The Otterberg Forestry Office is setting up a forest school behind the church, where children and parents can learn more about forest animals, plants, and ecological balance. This year the Sickingen May Market will present itself in a completely new light, inviting visitors to five days full of joy, community, and authentic spring festival atmosphere. Residents and guests from across the region can look forward to a May Market that has been reimagined, offering greater appeal, improved visitor experience, and many shared moments. In addition to the traditional fairground, a Ferris wheel, funhouse maze, bumper cars, and high-quality rides for children will provide entertainment for all ages. A special highlight is the newly introduced Landstuhl Beer & Wine Village with its own stage, creating a meeting place for enjoyment, socializing, and good conversation. Throughout all five days, a diverse live music program will ensure a lively and festive atmosphere. The festivities begin on April 30 at 6:00 PM with the opening of the fairgrounds and tapping of the keg. The highlight of the evening will be the grand opening fireworks at 9:45 PM and live music on all five fair days.

“Good food and drink with panoramic views” is the motto of the “Culinary Panoramic Hike,” which is once again attracting hiking enthusiasts to the region this year. Lace up your hiking boots and enjoy the most beautiful views of the Glan Valley, Donnersberg, and Remigiusberg.
The 14th Culinary Panorama Hike kicks off on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The official opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM at the Glan-Münchweiler train station. The #hartgeldmusikanten will be performing – a small group of musicians who, with their evergreens, catchy tunes, and traditional songs aim to spread good cheer and bring smiles to the faces of their listeners. Start your hike with the opening event in Glan-Münchweiler and plan your route according to your fitness level and culinary preferences. For this well-established hiking event, an interesting route with many beautiful panoramic views has once again been selected. Set your own pace and enjoy the spring weather. Culinary delights will also be on offer. Local restaurants and clubs invite you to relax and linger at various points along the way. Depending on your individual route planning, the signposted hiking trail will lead you to the villages of Etschberg, Fockenberg-Limbach, Glan-Münchweiler, Haschbach, Matzenbach, Niedermohr, Rehweiler, Reuschbach, or Theisbergstegen. You can start from any of these locations. Families with strollers and people with disabilities will find a fantastic, paved, level section of the route along the Glan-Blies Cycle Path, with numerous train stops along the way.
