RAMSTEIN SUMMER NIGHT WITH “CUBAN AFFAIRS”

JULY 10, 7.30 P.M.

CONGRESS CENTER, RAMSTEIN

Every Friday the Ramstein Summer Nights takes place from July to August. Each theme night has the focus on a certain country with traditional music, food and drinks. The band “CUBAN AFFAIRS” entertains the audience with popular rumba, mambo and salsa rhythms including songs by “Buena Vista Social Club”.

BREZELFEST

UNTIL JULY 14, FAIR GROUNDS, SPEYER

The Pretzel Festival is the biggest folk festival in the Upper Rhine region. In 2010, the traffic association was able to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this festival, which is famous beyond the regional borders and revolves around pretzels, beer, and socializing. It kicks off on Thursday with a ceremonial opening and the tapping of the Pretzel Festival beer. It offer over 100 vendors, rides and food and drink booths. It is best to use public transportation, as parking is difficult.

“SUMMER IN THE CITY”

JULY 18, 7 P.M., STADTHALLE, LANDSTUHL 

Throughout the summer months the “Stadthalle” hosts an event series titled “Summer in the City” with a live music program of different bands. The show takes place on Saturday evenings. The event series starts with the performance of the band “Endless Road”. The musicians Frank Stenger (bass), Chris Lehmann (guitar/vocals), and Thorsten Burkhardt (cajon/vocals) perform a selection of songs that have something for everyone. GREEK SUMMER NIGHT IN RAMSTEIN

JULY 31, 7.30 P.M., CONGRESS CENTER, RAMSTEIN

Each theme night has the focus on a certain country with traditional music, food and drinks. A “Greek Night” will take place on Friday, July 31. Live music by the band “Mikri Kompania” will entertain the audience. The program will include the performance of a Greek dancing group.

SUMMER SWING AT VOLKSPARK

JULY 15, 7 – 10 P.M., VOLKSPARK, KAISERSLAUTERN

On eight Wednesday evenings in July and August, the Summer Swing will take place again, this year at Volkspark Kaiserslautern. You can look forward to a diverse program. Enjoy handmade, high-quality, exciting music from one of the biggest music families in the world: jazz. Further dates: July 22, 29, Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26

ZURLAUBENER MOSEL FESTIVAL

JULY 10 – 12, ZURLAUBEN/TRIER

The Trier Mosel Festival in the Zurlauben district is also called the Zurlauben Heimatfest and takes place right on the Mosel River. On the large fairground, visitors can look forward to exciting rides and plenty of other amusements. The terrace restaurants will serve culinary treats and drinks, and the lively music will get everyone into the right mood. The festival kicks off on Friday with the tapping of the keg. The highlight of the festival, however, is the colorful fireworks on Saturday evening.

HAHNENFEST

JULY 11 – 12, HEISSENBERG, QUEIDERSBACH

Look forward to sociable hours, great entertainment with the Habachtalers and the Arnbachtaler brass band, tasty chicken, other food, and cool drinks. For little guests, there will be a bouncy castle, and on Saturday, there’s also bull riding for anyone who wants to show off their skills. Come by, celebrate with us, and enjoy a weekend full of tradition, community, and good vibes!

WEINKERWE EINSELTHUM

JULY 17 – 19, TOWN CENTER, EINSELTHUM/NEAR GÖLLHEIM

Every year, numerous wine dignitaries, such as the Zellertaler Wine Princess or the Palatinate Wine Queen, travel to the wine fair in Einselthum. The opening takes place on Friday at the Martinspforte winery. The Bescher and Wellers wineries also open their doors to visitors. Throughout the weekend, visitors to the wine fair are treated to fine wines and culinary specialties at winemakers’ estates. Live music is played as well. On the fairground, numerous surprises await little visitors. Parking is on a farmer’s field outside of town.

STADTMAUERFEST  FREINSHEIM

JULY 17 – 20, TOWN CENTER, FREINSHEIM

“With good mood around the wall” – that’s the motto of the City Wall Festival, which is always celebrated on the third weekend of July. The festival, known far beyond the town’s borders, presents itself in a fresh, summery way. Celebrations take place on both sides of the almost entirely preserved medieval city wall. Narrow paths, historic narrow streets, and romantic squares invite visitors to linger over the four days of the festival. There’s also plenty to discover in the town’s inns and wine taverns. A medieval ring wall, a baroque old town, mild summer nights, friendly people, fruity wines and sparkling wines, good music, and delicious treats from Palatinate cuisine – that’s the “secret” recipe for a successful Freinsheim City Wall Festival!

THE FASCINATION OF SPACE

JULY 18, 2 P.M. TECHNIK MUSEUM, SPEYER

On July 18, the museum welcomes NASA astronaut Kathryn Thornton. She will talk about her four missions with the space shuttles discovery, Endeavour and Columbia at the Forum cinema. Her reports are characterized by scientific fascination, team spirit, and the unique moments that only a stay in space can offer. The speech is in English. Afterwards, she will answer questions from visitors. Children up to 14 can take a souvenir photo with her. On Aug. 8 astronaut Mark Lee will make a showing and also give a speech.

RESIDENZFEST, AUG. 8 – 10

CITY CENTER, KIRCHHEIMBOLANDEN

Kirchheimbolanden invites you to ist 74th Residence Festival. Voted the ‘Most Beautiful Wine Festival 2017, this year’s festival goes under the motto ‘Three Summer Days in the Little Residence.’ Kirchheimbolanden warmly welcomes you to take a break behind historic walls and towers, and to explore charming courtyard arcades. At the widely known and popular festival, enjoy a pleasant atmosphere with various Palatinate specialties and delicacies, as well as a wide selection of regional and national wines. Musically, there’s something for everyone every day, with lots of live music. Various bands, entertainers, music duos, and dance bands will offer a wide range of entertainment for both young and old. Additionally, on Sunday, visitors have the chance to stroll through the shops during the special Sunday opening, sampling both wine and delicacies along the way.

MIESENBACH KERWE (FUNFAIR)

AUG. 28 – 31, SPORTSFIELD, MIESENBACH

Miesenbach will celebrate its annual funfair with a great program organized by the association “Miesenbacher Ereignis- & Traditionsverein”. From Friday through Monday visitors can look forward to musical entertainment, fun rides for children, candy, coffee and cakes, food and beverages. The fairground is located next to the sports field in Miesenbach.

BACKFISCHFEST (CITY FESTIVAL)

AUG. 29 – SEP. 6, FAIR GROUNDS, WORMS

Every year at the end of August, Worms experiences nine days of extraordinary activity: that’s when the Backfischfest, the largest wine and folk festival on the Rhine, has both locals and the several thousand visitors from near and far completely in its grip. At the heart of this traditional festival is the Worms Fishermen’s Guild – one of the oldest guilds in Germany (founded in 1106). Every year, on the last Saturday in August, the ‘Bojemääschter vun de Fischerwääd’ (Mayor of the Fishermen’s Meadow) takes over official duties in the town hall, along with his Backfisch bride.
