One of the scary residents of the Little Horror Shop in Hochspeyer is a mean clown who frightens visitors.
Hochspeyer’s Halloween haunted house, the Little Horror Shop, will open 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 7 to 10:30 p.m. Monday at Kirchstrasse 5.
The entire family will be able to enter the bewitched house and experience spooky scenarios in the dark. Vampires, ghosts and monsters will give visitors the creeps.
“Just in a moment when nobody expects it, weird and scary inhabitants of the house will tap on visitors’ shoulders, or a frightening grimace seems to appear from nowhere,” said organizer Anja Klingenberg. “This requires strong nerves.”
For the fourth time, this Halloween event takes place in the former restaurant called Zur Penne in the bottom part of Kirchstrasse. It provides the right creepy atmosphere and makes visitors wonder if strange creatures took residence of the unoccupied building.
Volunteers of the local booster club, Aktiv fuer Hochspeyer e.V., will make sure to scare everybody as expected.
“We will use special light effects and noises to revive the haunted house and our frightening scenes in the dark for sure will provide uncertainty and fear,” Klingenberg said. “We recommend not to bring children under 10, but this is totally up to the parents.”
After surviving the tour through the Little Horror Shop, participants can recuperate and have something to eat such as bratwurst, frikadellen, French fries and chili. The Roller Derby Team will offer popcorn, cotton candy and cookies. At 7 p.m. Saturday, a Halloween costume contest for children and adults will take place to find the most scary and terribly nicest costume.
Admission fee is €4 for adults and €1 for children older than 12 years old. Proceeds go back to community projects.
Due to construction, visitors coming by car, should follow the detour signs. The best parking possibility is in front of the public outdoor swimming pool. From here it is only a five-minute walk to the Little Horror Shop.
