Classes and training
The Kaiserslautern Transition Center periodically holds pre-separation briefings and quarterly pre-retirement briefings. These briefings are held at the Transition Center located on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3245, Room 6. The pre-separation briefings are held the first Tuesday of the month and should be attended between 60 and 90 days out from separation date. Any Soldier considering retiring should attend the Pre-Retirement briefing. Reservations are not necessary for the pre-separation briefing. The mandatory Army Traffic Safety Training Program Advanced Driver’s Course is designed to reaffirm and build on the principles taught in the Intermediate Driver’s Training Course. It also explores the consequences of decisions and the practice of personal risk assessment. Soldiers under 26 years old are required to complete the training, preferably within 12 to 18 months of completing the IDC. The course is held 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays in Bldg. 3107, Room 303, on Daenner Kaserne. A special class will be held 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 27 in Bldg. 1377 on Miesau Army Depot. The Airman & Family Readiness Center will host a “Show Me The Money” class from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in Bldg. 2120 on Ramstein. This class is part of the “Marriage Mechanics” series and helps attendees understand that knowing how you feel about money can be more important than how much money you have.
Anger and stress management classes begin March 11. The four-week class meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Bldg. 2121, Room 313 (medical clinic). Call 479-2370 or

The Airman & Family Readiness Center offers a Heart Link Spouse Orientation from
8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Ramstein Officers’ Club, Suite 4. Attendees learn about the base mission, use of acronyms, pay and entitlements and community resources. Call the A&FRC at 480-5100 for more information or to sign-up.

Employee Assistance Program-Substance Abuse Training for all Department of Army civilians takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. March 19 at the Learning Center, Bldg. 3718 on Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. This counts as one hour of the three-hour annual requirement for Department of Army civilians. This training will focus on substance abuse and sucide prevention. “1-2-3 Magic” Part 1 will be held from
5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bldg. 2121 (medical clinic), Room 115. Learn effective discipline for children ages 2 to 12, and learn how to handle difficult behavior such as

FMWR’s SKIESUnlimited offers a two part Babysitters’ Certification Class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 28. Chapel news
The KMC chapter of the Military Council of Catholic Women (a Catholic women’s group) invites you to its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. March 2 at the Ramstein Northside Chapel Annex. The theme for this month’s meeting is “Ask a Priest Night.” We will begin with a rosary, followed by a potluck dinner.  All are welcome to attend. Child care will be provided. St. Alban’s Episcopal Congregation holds its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ramstein’s Northside Chapel. This event is open to everyone in the KMC.
