The Airman’s coin signifies the beginning of an enlisted member’s career upon graduating basic military training. The original version of the Airman’s coin featured an eagle clawing its way out of the coin with the words “Aerospace Power” under it. The most recent coin replaced the eagle with the new Air Force symbol.

Whether they are mementos, awards or habits, such items are kept to remember the special moments we never wish to forget. Challenge coins are an example of these memories, as they are a form of recognition of the hard work and excellence an individual has displayed.

The Polygone Electronic Warfare Range extended their capabilities with the opening of the Polygone Control Center on March 18 in Bann, Germany.With the PCC, Polygone operators talk to aircraft through a simulator which allows them to send virtual threats to test pilots on their reactions during enemy engagements. The control center offers a consolidated operating system that allows all exercise players to interact on one screen.

The U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band Touch ’n Go ensemble works to spread joy and raise morale for audiences in deployed countries across Europe, Africa and other locations.

A KC-135 Stratotanker from the 100th Air Refueling Wing refuels a 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron A-10 Thunderbolt II March 26 above Ramstein. The A-10s deployed as part of a theater security package in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The TSP deployments are possible with the strategic access provided by infrastructure, support and relationships with local communities at U.S. and host nation installations. Service members from Ramstein, Spangdahlem Air Base, and Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, were all involved in the aerial refueling training. Aircrew from Mildenhall stayed multiple days at Ramstein to operate from the Air Force’s premier power projection platform, giving the A-10s deployed to Spangdahlem quick access to aerial refueling capabilities.
