To show their appreciation for servicemembers, Cooks from the Valley
traveled nearly 6,000 miles to donate and cook steaks this Veterans Day
at the Ramstein Officers

Military and civilian nurses from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center,
Vilseck Army Health Clinic and Ramstein Clinic visited historic medical
sites in Istanbul and Western Turkey to enrich their understanding of
hospitals and nursing through the past 2,000 years. Lois Borsay, from
LRMC, arranged the tour, which was booked by RTT Ramstein and Baritli
Travel in Istanbul.

The 86th Security Forces Squadron K-9 Section is a bit quieter today
with the loss of one of its K-9 heroes, Military Working Dog Boyke/F460.

On June 10, 1944, the U.S. Army Air Force launched what it hoped would
be a surprise attack on the Ploiesti oil refineries in Romania. The low
level attack was carried out by 36 Lockheed P-38 Lighting fighters of
the 82nd Fighter Group, each carrying a single 1,000 pound bomb,
escorted by 39 P-38 Lightings of the 1st and 82nd FGs.

With a shattered windshield, the crushed car sat in eerie silence. The
smell of exploded air bags filled the air, leaving a stench of burned
plastic and rubber.

from the wrecked car

As the Sembach Annex realignment plan pushes forward, allowing the U.S.
Army control of the former U.S. Air Force base, members of the 21st
Operational Weather Squadron are making smart resource choices to save
taxpayer dollars in unnecessary equipment moves.

This month, in observance of Native American Heritage Month, Team
Ramstein will be hosting several activities to celebrate and encourage
awareness of Native American history and heritage.
