Bad Duerkheim offers special shopping night

Bad Duerkheim on the German Wine Street will offer a special shopping night 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. The center of town will be immersed in special lights. Light cones, up to 10-meters high, glowing snails and fantasy figures in changing colors will decorate the streets around Roemerplatz and Stadtplatz. Skybeamers will illuminate the night sky.

In many countries all over the world, Sunday is the day, when husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends have romantic dinners, give gifts, candy, cards and flowers to show their love and affection.

Ever since 1990 on the Saturday after Fasching, the community of Olsbruecken observes a special tradition: the burning of winter. The hiking club Pfaelzerwaldverein will co-sponsor this annual event and offer celebrations at their forest hut.
