Each year in September, the “Latwerch Fest,” or plum butter fest, takes place in Morbach, a part of Niederkirchen. Organizer and local Hella Ullinger will open up her property from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday to invite interested guests to the traditional event.

Each year on the second Sunday in September, Berglangenbach, which belongs to the Baumholder Union Community, holds its annual farmers and arts and crafts market. For the 14th year, the village will be the stage for about 100 regional farmers and vendors Sunday.

Trippstadt will celebrate its annual “Kohlenbrennerfest,” charcoal burners’ fest, Saturday and Sunday. Besides the traditional burning of charcoal, the fest includes demonstrations of old craftsmanship, displays, children’s activities and live music.
