Lichtenberg Castle will let the Middle Ages revive itself with a medieval summer market Saturday and Sunday.
For the seventh time, vendors and actors in medieval costumes will present how life was in former times.

The annual Rheinland-Pfalz State Fair will take place today to Sunday in Pirmasens. Cities and union communities of the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, charity organizations as well as military forces will participate in the fair to demonstrate who they are and what they have to offer.

Visitors of Lichtenberg Castle near Kusel will learn everything about herbs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Under the motto “Herbal secrets at Lichtenberg Castle,” the castle will offer guided tours of the medieval herbal garden, herbal hikes, and lectures and presentations.

‘Get it all out’ from today to Sunday

Kaiserslautern’s city center will be the stage for a street theater festival of its own kind today to Sunday. For the seventh year, Lebenshilfe Kaiserslautern (an association for the mentally disabled) will sponsor the event “Alles Muss Raus!” or, “Get it all out!” in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Arts and Culture, the City of Kaiserslautern and the Rheinland-Pfalz Culture Summer.

Car-free Moscheltal lures hikers, bikers Sunday

County road L379 between Obermoschel and Waldgrehweiler will close to motorized traffic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The union community of Alsenz-Obermoschel will sponsor its second car-free event in the Moscheltal valley. Along the 10 kilometers stretch, L379 will turn into an adventure area for bicyclists, hikers and skaters.
