Senior leaders of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command join German allies for a presentation delivered during a logistics conference held Nov. 18 to 19 at the Bundeswehr Logistics School in Garlstedt. Leading logisticians from all Bundeswehr armed services as well as representatives from the Ministry of Defense and other Bundeswehr agencies participated in the conference. Col. Dave Brown, 21st TSC deputy commanding officer, represented the 21st TSC throughout the event. Maj. Gen. Duane A. Gamble, 21st TSC commanding general, attended the second day. Participants discussed a wide array of timely, relevant military issues, current and future logistical challenges, provision of logistical support to major regional operations, potential contracted solutions, experiences of very high readiness joint task force logistics battalion personnel and reflections on lessons learned during Trident Juncture 2015.

Maj. Gen. Duane A. Gamble (left) and Command Sgt. Maj. Rodney J. Rhoades, 21st TSC command team, work as a culinary duo to feed their Soldiers and family members during a Thanksgiving feast held Nov. 26 at the Clock Tower Cafe on Kleber Kaserne. The commanding general and senior enlisted leader pulled shifts on the serving line before sharing a Thanksgiving meal with the U.S. ambassador to Germany, their wives and families. Approximately 1,100 Soldiers, civilians and family members shared their Thanksgiving at the 21st TSC-operated Kleber Kaserne and Rhine Ordnance Barracks facilities in Kaiserslautern.

TSC warrant officers play ‘Santa’ for good cause

They may ride motorcycles rather than sleighs, and regulations do not permit an abdomen shaped like a “bowl full of jelly,” but members of the Warrant Officers Association, Rheinland-Pfalz Silver Chapter, along with family members and volunteers, emulated Saint Nick in a good cause during a succession of charity events culminating in a “Toy Run for Kids” slated for Saturday.

A C-17 Globemaster III carrying medical personnel from the 10th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Flight takes off Nov. 10 from Ramstein. The 10th EAEF is a mixture of active, reserve and guard Airmen deployed to Ramstein and constantly flying to war zones to retrieve patients needing higher levels of medical care.

Americans support host community, donation drive

The Atlantic Academy in Kaiserslautern recently sponsored a two-month-long donation drive for refugees. Americans donated items such as clothing, bedding, household items, toys and more. About 30 members of the Junior ROTC, KMC Eagles Hockey Organization and the Kaiserslautern Chapter of the RuffRyders Germany helped organize, sort and pack the items at the Atlantic Academy.
