News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany As both an Airman and a commander, I have witnessed and taken part in
countless change of command ceremonies. With each ceremony, I am struck
with the symbolism and transitions that take place with the passing of
the colors, the formation of the troops, and the first and final
salutes.
It is truly a remarkable honor to take the flag as your new commander.
Nearly 200 Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine service members took part in
a full-day leadership seminar hosted by the KMC Top III Total Force
Development Council Aug. 3 at the Kisling NCO Academy auditorium on
Kapaun Air Station.
From junior enlisted to senior officers, all members who attended the
seminar learned about the importance of being bold leaders.
When Marine Lance Cpl. Anthony Brocato went to see inspirational speaker
Dave Roever Aug. 1 at Rhine Ordnance Barracks, the mortuary affairs
specialist from Maryland hoped the disfigured Vietnam veteran would
offer words of hope to him.
Gen. Philip M. Breedlove took command of U.S. Air Forces in Europe from
Gen. Mark A. Welsh III today in a change of command ceremony on
Ramstein.
Ramstein hosted two groups of six U.S. Air Force Academy cadets over the past two months for Operation Air Force 2012.
