Air Forces Africa (17th Air Force) Commander Maj. Gen. Margaret Woodward
and Command Chief Master Sgt. Michael Grimm led a senior leader
engagement team to meet with Rwandan Air Force officials Dec. 14 to 16
here. The team also interfaced with U.S. Embassy officials and their
counterparts in the Office of Security Cooperation. The visit was the
first AFAFRICA SLE to the central African nation since Woodward took
command in June 2010.

When Chief Master Sgt. Craig Adams graduated from high school in 1985 in
Tiffin, Ohio, he spent a little more than a year deciding his job
opportunities and college options. Then one day a friend came to his
house and asked if he wanted to go to the Air Force recruiter. His
brother had already been in the Air Force for almost two years and
seemed to enjoy it. So, Adams agreed to go.

Alcohol-related incidents are a serious issue for our Airmen, families
and local community. ARIs directly affect our ability to conduct our
military mission, disrupt unit manning and productivity, and create
additional burdens on unit leadership.
