When the first snow falls, ski resorts begin to open, and in Germany, this is a sport many look forward to. In fact, skiing made its mark in Germany in 1891, “The birth year of German skiing,” directly on the slopes of Feldberg Ski resort by a Frenchman named Dr. Pilet with his wooden skis. The trend caught on and next year, Feldberg will celebrate 125 years of skiing.

The Kaiserslautern Kingfish swim team hosed the Berlin Bear-a-cudas in a dual meet Nov. 15 at the Ramstein Aquatic Center. The Kingfish notched another victory, scoring 530 points to Berlin’s 190.

Tiara Jenkins, a certified occupational therapy assistant with the 254th Medical Detachment, Combat Operational and Stress Control, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, prepares to throw a ball down the lane at the Vogelweh Bowling Center. Jenkins represented the Army women’s bowling team at this year’s Armed Forces Bowling Championship held in May at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Kingfish do it again!

On Sept. 27, the Kaisers-lautern Kingfish swim team hosted four other teams from across Europe at the Ramstein Aquatic Center. The Kingfish once again swam away with the victory, beating the Wiesbaden Wahoos, Lisbon Bullsharks and Lakenheath Barracudas 1257-792-154-141.
