Thursday Night Comedy Show

Recently awarded Best Standup Comedian at the Cleveland Comedy Festival, Prateek Srivastava headlines the Thursday Comedy Show Aug. 21 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Kazabra Club, Bldg. 2057 on Vogelweh. Feature Comedian is Shivani Davé, who is a NYC-based stand-up comic.   Special guest is Shannan Hunt, who produces the “Ha Ha” Harvest Comedy Festival each November. Host is local comedian Erin Crouch. This is an 18+ event. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $15 at the door.  Payment can be made with credit and debit cards or U.S dollars. Euros are not accepted. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club

New open sessions of free beginner dance lessons is held every Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing.  Focus is on Country Two Step, Swing and Line Dance. Ten other styles also available upon request. No experience necessary. Each session is in a start-to-finish format. Beginners welcome at the start of each new session! Baumholder Library Programs Paused in August

The Baumholder Library will be pausing programming for the month of August. The library will return to their normally scheduled programming on Sep. 1. This pause will affect all recurring programs except for the Summer Reading Program, Sketch Masters, and TTRPG (Tabletop Role Playing Game Campaigns), which will finish out the campaign that started in July. Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show

Registration for the Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show is Aug. 1 to Sep. 6. Cost is $10 per vehicle. The car show is Sep. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Pulaski Automotive Skills Center’s parking lot in front of building 2859 on Pulaski Barracks. Car-show participation for judging and prizes are open to all military affiliated ID card holders with or without SOFA status, to include: active duty, reserve, retired, veteran, family member, and DOD/DA/DAF civilians. Par 3 Golf Tournament

Golfers in the Baumholder and Kaiserslautern communities are invited to tee off in the first annual 18-hole Par 3 Tournament on Friday, Sep. 19 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. Registration opens Aug. 1 and goes to the day of the tournament. Golfers can register by either visiting the Rolling Hills pro shop or calling 531-3408 or 0611-143-531-3408. Players are encouraged to arrive early for range warm-up. Players will compete individually within four-person groups, with each hole modified to a par 3 format. The tournament fee is $45 and covers the cart, green fees, range token, and a meal ticket. The top scorer will receive a $50 MWR gift card and free entry into the Turkey Shoot tournament on Nov. 16. A special prize will be awarded for any hole-in-one. Post-tournament festivities, including refreshments and the winner’s announcement, will be held at the clubhouse. Free Line Dance Workshops

Free line dance instruction workshops will be held on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. KMC Onstage The Rocky Horror Shadow Show Auditions

The Award-Winning KMC Onstage announces auditions for ages 18 and older for The Rocky Horror Shadow Show Sep. 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. at the Landstuhl Community Club, Bldg. 3780 on Landstuhl Post. Auditions will consist of “cold” reading from the script. Experience is not necessary, and there will be casting for multiple roles. Landstuhl Library Programs Paused in August

The Landstuhl Library will be taking a break from programming during August to plan for the upcoming fiscal year. The Summer Reading Program will continue to Aug. 31.  Storytimes and special events will be back on Sep. 1. Youth Spartan Obstacle Challenge Event

Registration for the Baumholder Youth Sports & Fitness’ Youth Spartan Obstacle Challenge Event is Aug. 4 to 15, at Parent Central Services, Bldg. 8876 on Wetzel Kaserne or WebTrac. The challenge is Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. on Minick Field. This is for youth, aged 5 to 18. Participants receive a Spartan Award. Details call 0611-143-531-3440. 

The Rolling Hills Open

Registration for the Rolling Hills Open is now until Aug. 8. The event is Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. Cost is $50, which includes the green fee and cart, and a  BBQ meal with drink. This is a 1-day, 18-hole championship tournament. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (MWR Gift cards, $100, $75, and $50) and all winners will receive automatic inclusion on the Rolling Hills Ryder Cup team. Southern-Style Sunday Brunch

The Sembach Community Activity Center’s restaurant is serving a southern-style Sunday Brunch starting Sunday, Aug. 10, and then held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost for Adults is $25, ages 12-17 $15, ages 6-11 $10, and ages 0-5 are free. Auditions: You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown

The Award-Winning KMC Onstage is holding auditions for “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” Aug. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. at KMC Onstage Mainstage, Bldg. 3232 on Kleber Kaserne. The casting director is looking for multiple adult roles for this family show. Experience is not necessary. Those auditioning are asked to bring 30 to 60 seconds of music to sing. German Hunting Course in Baumholder & Kaiserslautern

German hunting courses will be held Aug. 9 to Oct. 19 in Baumholder, and Aug. 12 to Oct. 18 in Kaiserslautern. Registration is now until the first day of class. Course schedule for the Baumholder course is Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and for the Kaiserslautern course, it is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The German Hunting Course is an intensive program. Cost is $250 and membership fees. Open to hunters ages 18 and older, who are U.S. citizens/I.D. cardholders. Limited spaces available for this course. Summer Shred Challenge

A Fitbit Watch is the top prize for the 7-Day Summer Shred Challenge, held Aug. 15 to 22 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder.  Registration is now until Aug. 14. Cost is $10. Initial weigh-in is Aug. 15 and final weigh-in is Aug. 22 at the Hall of Champions Fitness Center. National Bowling Day

Celebrate National Bowling Day Saturday, Aug. 9 from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks. It’s a day to celebrate the sport of bowling and encourage people of all ages and abilities to participate. Patrons can enjoy unlimited bowling all day for just $10 and $1.50 for shoes. Soccer Start Smart Registration

Start Smart Soccer enrollments for Landstuhl is July 28 to Aug. 29 or when slots are full. Cost is $30. Start Smart is a parent/child interactive program for 3–4-year-olds, led by a Sports/Fitness Specialist.  Start Smart teaches children the skills they need to play organized sports in a FUN, non-competitive environment over the course of six 45-minute sessions. Sessions are offered at 3 p.m. on Sep. 2 to 4, Sep. 9 to 11, Sep. 30 to Oct. 2, and Oct. 7 to 9 on Landstuhl Post. Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders. Prenatal Yoga

Join a mindful community of expecting moms at the Massage and Yoga Studio, Bldg. 2899 on Pulaski Barracks. Cost is $5 per class or $40 for a book of 10 classes. Spanish Storytime

Baumholder Library offers Spanish Storytime, La Hora Del Cuento, for all ages to our community every third Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Imagination Room at the Baumholder Library, Bldg. 8332 on Smith Barracks.  Have fun exploring the Spanish language with books, reading, songs and other activities for a Spanish Storytime ¡con ganas!
