Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Basketball Tournament

Registration for the USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Intramural Sports Program’s Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Basketball Tournament is now until Jan. 9. Game days are Jan. 16 to 18 with first game tip-off on Jan. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks.  Cost is $450. Cashless payment only. Teams opting to pay via Transfer Between Activities (TBA) should contact the Point of Contact (POC) directly. Mandatory coaches meeting is Jan. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center. Your Friendly Neighborhood NYE Party

Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing, will host “Your Friendly Neighborhood New Year’s Eve Party” on Dec. 31 in the bar. 2025 Volunteer of the Year Nominations

The Army Community Service Army Volunteer Corps is accepting nominations for calendar year 2025 Volunteer of the Year from Jan. 1 to Feb. 6.  Categories are Youth, Single Soldier. Operation Storytime at the Baumholder Library

The Soldiers of the 16th Sustainment Brigade are on a new kind of mission – to inspire a love of reading in our youngest community members-every first Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. at the Baumholder Library, Bldg.  8332 on Smith Barracks. Through their example, these Soldiers show that leadership and service go beyond the uniform, inspiring curiosity and imagination in the next generation. Because at Operation Storytime, we inspire not by our words, but by our deeds. On a mission to inspire learning – one story at a time. Landstuhl Library Book Club

Join our Landstuhl Library Book Club every fourth Saturday of the month from 1 to 2 p.m. at the library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. The first one will be Saturday, Jan. 24. All adults are welcome! Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club

Patrons can learn Two-Step and other dance styles with the free beginner dance lessons every Wednesday from Jan. 7 until May 21. These classes are open sessions, once a week, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Focus will be on Two-Step, Swing, and Line Dancing. Country Line Dance Workshops

New Year, New You Fitness Program

The Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center is hosting the New Year, New You Fitness Program from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30 at the fitness center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks.  Registration is at the initial weigh-in, which is Jan. 23 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Registration fee is $10. The final weigh-in is Jan. 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must be 18 years older.  This is a seven-day program.  First Place prize is a “Fitbit Watch.”  A self-guided personal fitness schedule will also be provided throughout the challenge with accountability check-ins daily. Hobby Exploration Fair

Celebrate National Hobby Month on Thursday, Jan. 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Baumholder Library, Bldg. 8332 on Smith Barracks.  Attendees will meet with subject matter experts from across the Baumholder Community who can introduce them to different hobbies and activities from acting or fishing, to crafting or physical training, and much more. The library staff and community experts will also be able to connect them with resources to continue the hobby that “strikes a chord.” Presenters are asked to register in advance by Jan. 22 on baumholder.armymwr.com. Express Ski Trips

Outdoor Recreation will host ski express trips from December 2025 through March 2026, offering round-trip transportation and equipment with each package. Certified instructors are available to provide lessons for an additional $50. Destinations include Zugspitze, St. Anton, Garmisch-Hausberg, the Black Forest, Grindelwald in Switzerland and more. Midnight Bowl-a-thon

Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks, will host Monthly Midnight Bowling on select Fridays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The event is open to adults 18 and older and costs $15 per person, which includes lane use and shoe rental. Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
