Thursday Night Comedy Show

The Thursday Night Comedy show has a new location, lower prices and same fun. Barney Rivera headlines the Thursday Comedy Show Jan. 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the bar at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Feature Comedian is Sid Singh, and local guest is Eddie Rojas. Host is local comedian Erin Crouch. This is an 18+ event. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $10 at the door.  Payment can be made with credit and debit cards or U.S dollars. New Year, New You Fitness Program

The Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center is hosting the New Year, New You Fitness Program from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30 at the fitness center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks.  Registration is at the initial weigh-in, which is Jan. 23 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Registration fee is $10. The final weigh-in is Jan. 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must be 18 years older.  This is a seven-day program.  First Place prize is a “Fitbit Watch.”  A self-guided personal fitness schedule will also be provided throughout the challenge with accountability check-ins daily. Living Well Expo

The Living Well Expo will kick off the new year with free programs designed to promote fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness on Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kleber Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 3235 on Kleber Kaserne. Scheduled sessions include strength training, mobility, meditation, nutrition guidance, and cardio classes, with opportunities to meet certified trainers and win personal training and fitness class tickets. Serving Heroes Military Appreciation Meal

The Gary Sinise Foundation in partnership with Family and MWR presents a free “Serving Heroes” appreciation meal Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sembach Community Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. This buffet-style meal is open to all U.S & Allied, Active-Duty Service Members, Veterans and First Responders. This is a part of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s heartfelt mission to honor “Our Defenders, Veterans, First Responders & Their Families.” Come enjoy a warm, classic American meal and connect with others in a spirit of gratitude and community. 2025 Volunteer of the Year Nominations

The Army Community Service Army Volunteer Corps is accepting nominations for calendar year 2025 Volunteer of the Year now to Feb. 6.  Categories are Youth, Single Soldier. Youth Sports Spring Enrollment

Youth Sports Spring Enrollment for youth ages 5 to 15 is Jan. 31 to Feb. 28 (or until teams are full). Sports offered are Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Golf, Volleyball and Track & Field. Practice locations are Landstuhl, Sembach and Kaiserslautern, and vary by sport. Golf costs $85 per child, and all other spring sports are $65 per child. A Health Assessment/ Sports Physical good through June 15 is required. Big Game Viewing at Armstrong’s Club

The Big Game at the Landstuhl Community Club

The Landstuhl Community Club, Bldg. 3780, Landstuhl Post, is hosting a Big Game Party Feb. 8 starting at 9 p.m.  This event is open for all ages. Live DJ until kick-off. No cover charge. There will be a raffle, drink specials and door prizes. Shawingz will be open until midnight and will be offering specials throughout the night. Big Game Showing at Sembach

Sembach Recreation Center to show the Big Game Feb. 8 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. in the Manhattan Lounge, inside the Sembach Community Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. The Landstuhl Library is hosting the rejuvenating Gamer Con on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. CYS Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Registration

Baumholder Youth Sports will offer a three-week Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program for ages 6 to 12, featuring two sessions per week and no “gee” requirement. Cost is $50 per child. Program will be in monthly sessions. Open enrollment for upcoming sessions will continue throughout the year. Each monthly three-week session features two classes per week. Volunteer coaches will teach beginner-level skills while helping participants build coordination, balance, discipline and confidence. The program introduces fundamental techniques in a supportive, age-appropriate environment. Express Ski Trips

Outdoor Recreation will host ski express trips from now through March 2026, offering round-trip transportation and equipment with each package. Certified instructors are available to provide lessons for an additional $50. Destinations include Zugspitze, St. Anton, Garmisch-Hausberg, the Black Forest, Grindelwald in Switzerland and more. RECURRING EVENTS

Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
