
Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Basketball Tournament
Registration for the USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Intramural Sports Program’s Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Basketball Tournament is now until Jan. 9. Game days are Jan. 16 to 18 with first game tip-off on Jan. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks. Cost is $450. Cashless payment only. New Year, New You Fitness Program
The Hall of Champions Physical Fitness Center is hosting the New Year, New You Fitness Program from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30 at the fitness center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks. Registration is at the initial weigh-in, which is Jan. 23 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration fee is $10. The final weigh-in is Jan. 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must be 18 years older. This is a seven-day program. First Place prize is a “Fitbit Watch.” A self-guided personal fitness schedule will also be provided throughout the challenge with accountability check-ins daily. Living Well Expo
The Living Well Expo will kick off the new year with free programs designed to promote fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness on Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kleber Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 3235 on Kleber Kaserne. Scheduled sessions include strength training, mobility, meditation, nutrition guidance, and cardio classes, with opportunities to meet certified trainers and win personal training and fitness class tickets. CYS Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Registration
Baumholder Youth Sports will offer a three-week Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program for ages 6 to 12, featuring two sessions per week and no “gee” requirement. Cost is $50 per child. Program will be in monthly sessions starting Jan. 5. Open enrollment for upcoming sessions will continue throughout the year. Each monthly three-week session features two classes per week. Volunteer coaches will teach beginner-level skills while helping participants build coordination, balance, discipline and confidence. The program introduces fundamental techniques in a supportive, age-appropriate environment. Baumholder 101: Spouse Orientation
Meet new and seasoned spouses at the Baumholder 101: Spouse Orientation held either twice or once a month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Post Office building 8661 on Smith Barracks. The dates in the first quarter in 2026 are Jan. 26, Feb. 23, and March 23. The goal of this orientation is to connect families with resources, community information, local agencies and services, and other Spouses. There will be representatives from Army Community Service, Outdoor Recreation, Value Added Tax, and many others. The orientation is not limited to incoming Spouses and is open to all Spouses. Serving Heroes Military Appreciation Meal
The Gary Sinise Foundation in partnership with Family and MWR presents a free “Serving Heroes” appreciation meal Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sembach Community Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. This buffet-style meal is open to all U.S & Allied, Active-Duty Service Members, Veterans and First Responders. Spring Sports Enrollment-Special Opening
Kaiserslautern Army Youth Sports will host a special spring sports enrollment event on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Parent Central Services, Bldg. 162 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. Sports offered are soccer and baseball for ages 5 to 15, track and field, and golf for ages 8 to 15, and volleyball for ages 9 to 15. Golf costs $85 per child, and all other spring sports are $65 per child. Children must have a current Child and Youth Services registration and a valid sports physical on file. New registrations and re-registrations will not be processed during the event and can be done starting Feb. 2 at Parent Central Services during regular business hours. Stuffed Animal Storytime and Sleepover
The popular annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover starts with children dropping off their stuffed animals Thursday, Feb. 5, at the 5 p.m. storytime, after which they will tuck them in for a library sleepover at the Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. The stuffed animals will be picked up by their “human friends” Friday, Feb. 6, between noon and 4 p.m. Children will get to see the shenanigans that their stuffed animals got into overnight. Everyone is encouraged to wear their pajamas to the storytime. Children who can’t attend the storytime can still participate by dropping off their stuffies during opening hours (10 am to 6 pm) on Feb. 5. The event is free. Paint & Sip “Love is in the Air “
The Sembach Recreation Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne, will host its first Paint & Sip event of 2026 on Feb. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Participants will create Valentine’s Day–themed artwork during “Love Is in the Air” while enjoying a relaxed, social atmosphere. Dog Obedience Training
Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. SOS Survivor Support Group
The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.
Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!
The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
