
Youth Spartan Obstacle Challenge Event
Registration for the Baumholder Youth Sports & Fitness’ Youth Spartan Obstacle Challenge Event is Aug. 4 to 15, at Parent Central Services, Bldg. 8876 on Wetzel Kaserne or WebTrac. Southern-Style Sunday Brunch
The Sembach Community Activity Center’s restaurant is serving a southern-style Sunday Brunch starting Sunday, Aug. 10 and then held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost for Adults is $25, ages 12-17 $15, ages 6-11 $10, and ages 0-5 are free. Auditions: You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown
The Award-Winning KMC Onstage is holding auditions for “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” Aug. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. at KMC Onstage Mainstage, Bldg. 3232 on Kleber Kaserne. The casting director is looking for multiple adult roles for this family show. Experience is not necessary. Those auditioning are asked to bring 30 to 60 seconds of music to sing. Summer Shred Challenge

Thursday Night Comedy Show
Recently awarded Best Standup Comedian at the Cleveland Comedy Festival, Prateek Srivastava headlines the Thursday Comedy Show Aug. 21 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Kazabra Club, Bldg. 2057 on Vogelweh. Feature Comedian is Shivani Davé, who is a NYC-based stand-up comic. Special guest is Shannan Hunt, who produces the “Ha Ha” Harvest Comedy Festival each November. Host is local comedian Erin Crouch. Baumholder Library to Host Summer Reading Block Party Celebration
The Baumholder Library invites the community to join one of the season’s most anticipated events — the Summer Reading Celebration — on July 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pavilion No. 1, Smith Barracks, near the Wagon Wheel Theater parking lot. The event will feature games, prize giveaways and information booths hosted by local community partners. The celebration is free and open to all community members. The Rolling Hills Open
Registration for the Rolling Hills Open is now until Aug. 8. The event is Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. Cost is $50, which includes the green fee and cart, and a BBQ meal with drink. This is a 1-day, 18-hole championship tournament. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (MWR Gift cards, $100, $75, and $50) and all winners will receive automatic inclusion on the Rolling Hills Ryder Cup team. German Hunting Course in Baumholder & Kaiserslautern
German hunting courses will be held Aug. 9 to Oct. 19 in Baumholder, and Aug. 12 to Oct. 18 in Kaiserslautern. Registration is now until the first day of class. Course schedule for the Baumholder course is Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and for the Kaiserslautern course, it is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The German Hunting Course is an intensive program. Cost is $250 and membership fees. Open to hunters ages 18 and older, who are U.S. citizens/I.D. cardholders. Limited spaces available for this course. The Landstuhl Youth Center is a facility for youth in grades 6th-12th that offers a wide range of programs and activities Monday through Friday, after school. This free program is available to youth who have a military affiliation in Germany. Homeschooled youth, and youth who attend either a German or DODEA school are welcome to join. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club
The new open sessions of free beginner dance lessons is every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. The focus is Country Two Step, Swing and Line Dance. Ten other styles are also available upon request. No experience necessary. Next session is July 9 to Aug. 6. Wear smooth bottom shoes. Rubber-soled athletic shoes are not ideal for dancing.
