New Facility Hours for Landstuhl Automotive Skills Center
Beginning Oct. 3, the Landstuhl Automotive Skills Center will no longer operate on Saturday. New hours for the center are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with early drop-off available daily from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The facility will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays. Landstuhl Library Paws and Tales: Reading to Dogs
Starting in October, the Paws and Tales: Reading to Dogs is held on the first and third Wednesday and Thursday of every month between 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. This program is for school-age readers, who will be reading to Red Cross certified dogs. Registration is required and can be done through the QR on kaiserslautern.armymwr.com. Aqua Zumba at Baumholder Aquatic Center
Aqua Zumba classes led by Oliva Gairy, who is a certified Aqua Zumba instructor, are held weekly at the Baumholder Aquatic Center, Bldg. 8897 on Wetzel Kaserne. Sessions take place Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m. Classes are not held on federal or training holidays. The cost is $5 per class, which includes the $3 pool entrance fee. Join Family and MWR, in partnership with Kaiserslautern High School for College Night Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kaiserslautern High School, Bldg. 3000 on Vogelweh. Dog Obedience Training
Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!
The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
