KMC Housing enacts safety initiative

The Kaiserslautern Military Community Housing Office plans to continue installing child safety locks and new coverings on windows in housing on Ramstein Air Base, Vogelweh Military Complex and Kapaun Air Station, through August, to prevent unintentional falls and strangulation.

After eight months of efforts and initiatives across the Army to improve housing conditions, residents of U.S. Army family housing will have another chance to rate the quality of housing and housing services in 2019 as the Army prepares to launch two more surveys — one on Army-owned and -leased housing, and one on privatized housing.

Demolition crews have begun tearing down several buildings in the Wetzel Housing Area of Baumholder. Some of the buildings date back to the late 1940s. Seventy-two new home, the bginning of a decade long project, are scheduled for construction in FY2021.
