Retired Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley spent five days visiting with Team Ramstein members March 1 to 5.

Chief Master Sgt. Tamar Dennis, Kisling NCO Academy commandant (right), rewards Rebecca Kirk, Royal Air Force Reserve flying officer, with a certificate recognizing her participation in a series of exercises during Warrior Day Aug. 8 on Vogelweh. At the end of each day, the air cadets were rewarded for their hard work with certificates that acknowledged they successfully exercised admirable cooperative skills.

Airmen throughout Germany gathered to attend the Kisling NCO Academy’s largest professional development course Jan. 22 on Kapaun.

Royal Air Force Air Training Corps cadets participate in tug-of-war after an obstacle course Aug. 10 on Vogelweh. After the tug-of-war against each other, they defeated the Kisling NCO Academy instructors in the final round.

The Kisling Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Kapaun Air Station is working toward switching to a new curriculum called the Intermediate Leadership Experience expected to begin in early 2016.

It is another day at the Kisling NCO Academy for an ambitious senior NCO. He sits at his desk cluttered with homework, notebooks and pens in an attempt to understand and learn how to interact with and relate to Airmen.

One of my favorite movies is called “The Mighty.” It’s about an awkward boy with learning disabilities and an unmistakably large stature and his friend who is riddled with birth defects, plaguing his ability to stand and even walk on his own. The two rely heavily on each other to fill in their personality and learning gaps.
