News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany 
More than 300 KMC members volunteered at the 49th annual Ramstein Welfare Bazaar Sept. 12 to 14. The event was hosted by the 86th Force Support Squadron and sponsored by the Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club.
Each year on the second Sunday in September, Berglangenbach, which belongs to the Baumholder Union Community, holds its annual farmers and arts and crafts market. For the 14th year, the village will be the stage for about 100 regional farmers and vendors Sunday.
Trippstadt will celebrate its annual “Kohlenbrennerfest,” charcoal burners’ fest, Saturday and Sunday. Besides the traditional burning of charcoal, the fest includes demonstrations of old craftsmanship, displays, children’s activities and live music.
There’s so much music planned for this year’s Stadtfest Landstuhl, it might as well be called Landstuhlapalooza.
The Boy Scouts of America will be conducting a Scout Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center in the Army and Air Force Exchange Service main exchange courtyard.
Members of the base honor guard perform in a variety of ceremonies at locations ranging from the local KMC area to France.
The 786th Civil Engineer Squadron tests and analyses the drinking water for the KMC to ensure the distributed water is consumable for Airmen and civilians on base.
I have been to the KMCC twice in the last two weeks and have parked out front from the main entrance. While walking into the center, I look around, and I must say, I am very embarrassed at the amount of trash I see on the ground.
