Exuberant atmosphere and colorful highlights for the whole family! During this time, visitors can expect a varied fairground experience with numerous attractions for young and old, fun rides, and food and beverages, in a colorful spring setting.

SAARBURGER FRÜHLING (SPRING MARKET)

MARCH 29, 11 A.M.-6 P.M., CITY CENTER, SAARBURG 

Farmers’ and artisan market on Graf-Siegfried Street and a children’s flea market with a carousel and duck fishing.  Car exhibition at Fruchtmarkt, a variety of regional products and specialties, culinary highlights, and sweet treats like waffles & crêpes. Shops will open their stores and offer floral surprises for their customers.

10TH HINKELSTEIN-WANDERMARATHON/TRAIL

MARCH 29/VARIOUS TIMES, OTTERBERG

Registration now open: With the first rays of spring sunshine, hiking enthusiasts and trail running fans can prove their early-season fitness March 29, and look forward to an exciting outdoor event at the “10th Hinkelstein Hiking Marathon / Trail.” In addition to natural forest paths and stretches across open fields, past historic boundary stones, menhirs, and idyllic ponds, the trail offers attractive landscapes and breathtaking views, including Donnersberg, the highest mountain in the Palatinate. DEUTSCH-FRANZÖSISCHER BAUERNMARKT (GERMAN-FRENCH FARMERS MARKET)

MARCH 29, 11 A.M. – 6 P.M., RATHAUSPLATZ, LANDAU

What unites Palatines and neighbors from Alsace is the love of enjoyment. We appreciate good wine, sociability, and good food. It is not surprising that we want to unite the culinary delights of our regions somehow. For the 12th time, we are therefore organizing the German-French Farmers’ Market on the Landau town hall square. The mix makes it!  Regional products from the Palatinate and culinary highlights from neighboring France make the gourmet market one of the most exciting in the region. Here you will find local products, regional produce, short transportation routes, and humane animal husbandry – this is more important today than ever before. Special emphasis is placed on this at the German-French Farmers’ Market. Stores will be open from 1 – 6 p.m., for Sunday shopping.

FRÜHJAHRSMESSE 2026 (SPRING FAIR)

APRIL 2 – 19, FESTPLATZ, SPEYER

The fairground will transform into a colorful spring fair. In addition to a large number of attractive rides, visitors can expect a wealth of culinary offerings. Experience a family-friendly ride on the Ferris wheel. Amusement rides and the bumper cars offer fun for young and old. If you are looking for a thrill, we recommend a ride on the high-altitude attraction. Furthermore, to numerous shops will make children’s hearts beat faster, an amusement facility will provide lots of fun and good cheer. There are also many opportunities at the numerous ball/arrow toss, lottery, and ring toss games or with the fishing game and shooting gallery to demonstrate your own skill. The beer gardens and snack stands invite you to linger. Round off your visit with a sweet treat, ice cream or crepe.

OSTERN (EASTER) WEEKEND

APRIL 3 – 6, GERMANY-WIDE

Both Good Friday (April 3) and Easter Monday (April 6) are national holidays in Germany and many other European countries, based on a religious background. All stores and public offices are closed in observance of the occasion. Most stores will be open on Saturday.

Step back into the Middle Ages with ladies and knights, jugglers, fire shows, vendors, camp life, children’s activities, music and more!

FRÜHLINGSFEST (SPRING MARKET)

APRIL 12, 12 P.M., MARKTPLATZ, RAMSTEIN

Enjoy a delightful and colorful flower and spring market at the market square in Ramstein. There will be plants, decorational items, and plenty of food and drinks. Stores will be open for Sunday shopping, so get out and enjoy spring vibes!

COUNT PALATINATE HALL AND THE SUBTERRANEAN TUNNEL

APRIL 11, 11:15 A.M., TOURIST INFO, KAISERSLAUTERN

The tour starts in the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards you descend into the subterranean tunnel. FLOHMARKT (FLEA AND ANTIQUE MARKET)

APRIL 11, FORUM, HOMBURG

The flea market in the region was founded in 1975 by the Homburg Advertising Association and has developed into the largest in the Southwest German region. Today, the flea market is organized by Homburger Kultur GmbH. Every first Saturday of the month – on holidays the flea market date is postponed by one week. On peak days in the summer, up to 1,000 vendors offer their goods and attract thousands of visitors to Homburg. The flea market has become the top destination for customers, including those from France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. All of this makes the flea market a tourist attraction.

GARDEN-ART-ENJOYMENT MARKET

APRIL 27, 10 A.M. – 6 P.M., ABTEIKIRCHE, OTTERBERG

An art and enjoyment weekend with a garden
market in front of the abbey church will take place in Otterberg. For the sixth time, the popular Garden-Art-Enjoyment Market will be held on Sunday, April 27. The events offer a diverse program with art, music, culinary delights, and information about gardening and nature. Over 60 selected exhibitors will present their handcrafted products in the areas of clay, wood, metal, fabric, paper, plants, and art. Visitors can look forward to numerous advisory and information booths, including a plant doctor who provides valuable tips for the new gardening season. Plants for your own garden can also be purchased. Culinary specialties will be offered on Kirchstraße, including spit-roast meat, game and lamb products, as well as vegetarian dishes and steamed dumplings. The Alte Abtei invites guests for coffee and cake starting at 2 p.m. The monastery garden is open and offers guided tours. There are also exciting activities for  little visitors: The Otterberg Forestry Office is setting up a forest school behind the church, where children and parents can learn more about forest animals, plants, and ecological balance.
