August is Children’s Eye Health, Safety Month

August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month. In an effort to promote awareness around the KMC, the Ramstein Optometry Clinic, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service Optical Shop, and the AAFES Optometry Care Clinic in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center will each set up informational displays on this topic. Now is the best time to make sure your children’s eye care and safety needs are up to date.

The Ramstein Optometry Clinic offers space available dependent slots for routine eye exams. Landstuhl Regional Medical Center has a specially trained pediatric ophthalmologist. There are also many other qualified local vision experts who offer these same services located all around the KMCC. Some of these choices include the AAFES Optometry Care Clinic, which has a doctor of optometry who is available for exams five days per week, as well as the AAFES Optical Shop, which is open seven days a week. For more information on children’s eye health and safety, be sure to check out Prevent Blindness America as well as the American Optometric Association online.

The 86th Medical Group does not promote or endorse any sales through the KMCC, but are simply partnering with them in order to reach a wider audience and better promote Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month.
