Prom is coming soon for many juniors and seniors in the KMC. Countless questions are rushing through many of your teenagers’ minds right now. Is my dress going to get here on time? How will my hair look? Will I find a date?

Prom might be the biggest memory some students keep from high school. In their minds it has to be perfect.  Here are 10 tips for students going to prom this month.

• Make sure you have the proper clothing and it all fits correctly.

• Girls, find yourself the perfect dress. It is your evening and you’re
supposed to feel like a princess. Whether it is short, long, solid, printed, slender or poufy, just make sure it is appropriate for the occasion.

• Men, find the tux or suit that isn’t going to bother you all night because it fits you incorrectly.

• Decide who you are going with, whether you want a date or you just want to go stag with a big group of friends.

• If you choose to have a date, do not ditch him or her before or during prom.

• Men, if you are going with a date, make sure you buy a tie to match her dress, or match your date in some way. It makes you look better.

• Double check your payments to make sure you have done everything required to attend prom.

• Ladies, wear your shoes around the house at least a week before prom if you’ve never worn them before. You want to break them in before you dance all night so your feet aren’t killing you the next day.

• Do not lose your ticket — no ticket, no entry. It wouldn’t be good to have been day-dreaming about prom for months and when the day comes you have no ticket. Keep it in a safe spot at home.

• Just have fun. Do not break the rules, do not create drama. Just enjoy it and dance the night away.
