The unit formerly known as the 9th Military Police Detachment held a
ceremony Sept. 29 at Coleman Gym in Mannheim, Germany, to welcome a new
commander and to formally recognize its transition into U.S. Army
Regional Correctional Facility-Europe.

security reset team from Tobyhanna Army Depot, Penn., at Rhine Ordnance
Barracks Sept. 22.

Alfred Völcker was 18 years old when he started working at Ramstein on
Oct. 23, 1963. Forty-seven years later, he retired from his job in the
Transport Branch
In recent years, Warrior Transition Units have become an important tool
in helping wounded Soldiers. The WTU is a place where Soldiers can take
time to heal and effectively manage their medical appointments. The WTU
can also act as a transition point if a Soldier is going through a
medical or physical evaluation board.
