News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany 
The holidays are a time for family and feasting for many in the KMC.
However, it can also be a time to win the war against those extra
holiday pounds, which KMC members did this year with help from the
Ramstein Southside Fitness Center and its Fitmas program.
Colleagues from the Nigerian air force Quick Response Force visited
members of the 435th Contingency Response Group Dec. 4 through 6 at
Ramstein.
This season was supposed to be something of a re-grouping year for the
Kaiserslautern Kingfish Swim Team. At the end of last season, seven
seniors graduated. They also lost several multi-swimmer families to
PCS.
What are some thoughts that go through your mind when you think about the winter months?
The City of Landstuhl will hold its 16th Christmas market today through Monday in front of the Stadthalle.
All over German Christmas markets, shoppers will find unique wooden
items such as nutcrackers, Christmas pyramids, angels and other figures.
The origin of these holiday items dates back to the 17th century in the
Erzgebirge, a mountain area near the Czech border.
German communities have rules that oblige house owners to keep sidewalks
free of ice and snow. Renters living off-base should check their rental
contracts to find out about their obligations.
Christmas is celebrated in many diverse and unique ways around the

It’s become a tradition for Louise Gregory’s first grade class to perform during U.S. Army Garrison Baumholder’s annual National Native American Heritage Month celebration, and this year was no exception.
