First Lt. Delilah Chinana, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing contract airlift and terminal ops chief, responds to emails Nov. 14 regarding 
airline contracts as part of her job to ensure Airmen and their family members fly in clean and safe aircraft. Chinana is Walatowa from the Pueblo of Jemez in New Mexico. She is one of many Native Americans currently serving in the Air Force.

They wear identical uniforms, have similar haircuts and are all held to the same set of rules and standards, but the Department of Defense recognizes the diversity among service members and civilian employees during monthlong heritage observations.

GACO welcomes 30,000th customer

The German-American Community Office recently welcomed customer No. 30,000. Spc. Evral Graham of the 230th Military Police Company at Sembach Kaserne visited GACO in Kaiserslautern to inquire about the German “Kindergeld,” or child allowance. Little did he know, he would be greeted not only with the information he was inquiring about, but recognized as a milestone customer for GACO.

Running full-speed at nosebleed elevations; traversing creeks, rocks and caves; scrambling over loose rock debris; and hiking up goat trails with walking sticks that resemble ski poles might seem crazy to some, but adventure racers — including one U.S. Army Reserve Soldier stationed in Europe — would race no other way.
