Members of the 721st Aerial Port Squadron, assigned to the 521st Air Mobility Wing stationed at Ramstein, handle the delivery and shipment of everything from munitions, aircraft parts, medical supplies and ration pallets to registered mail. Even though they handle many high-priority items, their most important job is also their hardest.

The City of Sankt Wendel will hold its Christmas market combined with a medieval market Saturday to Dec. 15. More than 130 little decorated houses and booths will offer arts and crafts, gift ideas and regional culinary specialties from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Today, Germans observe “Nikolaustag,” or Santa Claus Day. Traditionally, on the night of Dec. 5, children place their boots outside their rooms to have them filled by Santa Claus with candy, cookies, nuts, oranges and little gifts during the night.

A new library is now open on Smith Barracks. You don’t need a library card, there are no late fees, there is no librarian hovering ominously nearby ensuring that a book does not accidently fall into your coat pocket and it’s open 24/7.
