Going home at the end of the day is a welcomed experience for most people after a busy day, but without the right precautions, driving can be hazardous during the winter months. Vehicle accidents increase at an alarming rate during colder weather because many drivers fail to compensate for the increased driving hazards created by sleet, ice and snow.

Base leadership volunteered to serve a Thanksgiving meal to Airmen and their families as a way to boost morale and provide a low-cost option. Turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, two types of gravy, green beans and corn were some of the Thanksgiving items served as part of this Thanksgiving holiday tradition.

Angel Trees have sprouted up around the KMC, providing holiday cheer and financial support to families in need at Ramstein. Last year, the Angel Tree program helped nearly 250 families and 400 children during the holiday season. Donation drop boxes and tree locations  are at the following public areas on Ramstein: Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, Express Shoppette, Ramstein Enlisted Club, Ramstein Officers’ Club, the commissary, north and southside chapels and the post office, as well as the following locations on Vogelweh: the commissary, chapel and the Express Shoppette.
