The CG-4A was the primary combat glider for the United States Army Air Forces in World War II and one of two types of combat gliders used by the 435th Troop Carrier Group. Approximately 280 glider pilots formed the 435th Glider Combat Team, trained extensively on infantry weapons and tactics, and fought a key defensive action against a German counter-attack in a night fight nicknamed the “Battle of Burp Gun Corner.”

BAUMHOLDER, Germany – Sgt. 1st Class Carlos Retana, equal opportunity advisor, 10th Army Air and Missile Command, emceed a Black History Month Observance that focused on the 15th Amendment to the United States Constitution on Smith Barracks, Germany Feb. 18. Retana said that events like these are important so that everyone has a chance to be exposed to different cultures and learn from one another.

Electronic cigarettes: How is youth being affected?

In a recent Center for Disease Control study, 20 percent of high school students admitted to using at least one type of tobacco product. This study also found that 11 percent of those high school students had used a tobacco product within the past 30 days.
