The 405th Army Field Support Brigade held a quarterly awards ceremony Jan. 4 at the brigade headquarters on Daenner Kaserne in Kaiserslautern.

During the ceremony, Carol Sheffler, a logistics management specialist from 1st Battalion in Kaiserslautern, was recognized as the volunteer of the quarter; Brian Cafferty, a logistics assistance representative for the Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command, was selected as the LAR of the quarter; Villy Fernandez, the administrative assistant for 1st Battalion, was honored as the Department of the Army Civilian of the quarter; and Alessandro Donati, a quality assurance specialist who works for 3rd Battalion at Leghorn Army Depot, Italy, received an award as the host nation employee of the quarter.

“I believe that it is very important that we take the time to recognize our peers who go above and beyond their duty each and every day to serve our Soldiers,” said Col. Ronald Green, the commander of the 405th AFSB. “Too often, we get caught up in our day-to-day routines and neglect to properly recognize those who are truly making a difference.”

Colonel Green also recognized the nominees in each category during the ceremony: Steven Stanfill was nominated in the volunteer category, and Irene Koelsch and Detluff Nuss were nominated in the host nation employee category. DAC employee of the quarter nominees were Manuel Balderaz, Cheryl Allen, Ron Barta, Ron Lee and Victor Tribble. LAR of the quarter nominees were Ronald Hand and Garry Smith. Each nominee received a commander’s award.
