86 AW partners with local pilot group

A group of glider pilots from various flying clubs in Rheinland-Pfalz tour the air traffic control tower located at Ramstein Air Base, Sept. 9, 2022, during a Mid-Air Collision Avoidance Meeting. The glider pilots partnered with the 86th Airlift Wing personnel to help translate text, allowing RAB to publish a notice to air missions to alert aircrews of the times, locations and altitudes of flying operations. Glider pilots from various flying clubs in Rheinland-Pfalz come together for a day filled with tours at Ramstein Air Base, Sept. 9, 2022, during a Mid-Air Collision Avoidance Meeting. The event consisted of a tour of C-21 and C-130J Hercules aircraft, ground control approach facility and air traffic control tower. During the event, the glider pilots were able to better understand American procedures and ask questions in regards to how American and German operations differ.
