KMC Housing Out-Processing

Those with PCS orders planning to depart the KMC should review the Housing Out-Processing Checklist by scanning the QR code on the upper right or visiting https://www.ramstein.af.mil/Ramstein-Housing-Office/

TLA

On-Base Housing

You are authorized 3 business days of TLA, excluding weekends and holidays, prior to your port call date and should first contact Ramstein Inns to book lodging for you and your family before seeking accommodations in the local economy.

Off-Base Housing

Those residing in economy housing are authorized reimbursement of up to the last 10 nights immediately preceding your departure (counting backwards from your departure/port call date).

Note: TLA is not authorized, if sleeping accommodations, either personal or FMS loaner furniture, are still in place.

Temporary Furniture

Departing service members are entitled up to 90 days of temporary furniture prior to departure; this allows you time to arrange for an earlier pickup of household goods.

After contacting TMO to arrange for the pickup of household goods and transportation arrangements, you can reach out to the Furnishings Management Section to schedule temporary furniture and the pickup of any loaned appliances, if residing in the local economy.

On-Base Out-Processing

At least 40 days prior to your anticipated departure date, visit the Housing Office during walk-in hours to schedule your Pre- and Final Inspections for Military Family Housing.

Come prepared with a copy of your orders and departure information.

Once the Final Inspection is completed, the Facilities Inspector will sign any necessary clearance documents for your out-processing checklist.

If you do not have orders or a departure call date, only the Pre-Inspection can be scheduled. A separate visit will be necessary to schedule the Final Inspection once orders and a port call date are confirmed.

Off-Base Out-Processing

Provide your Landlord a minimum of 30 days written termination notice (form provided from the Housing Office).

Contact the UTAP and FMS offices for out-processing instructions and guidance on terminating utility services, if applicable.

Schedule a final walk-through of the home with your LL and complete the required Premises Condition/Inventory Form (333A) with the LL.

The LL MUST complete sections 19 and 20.

MANDATORY – You need to come to the KMC Housing Office after the final walk-through with your Landlord to finish out-processing from Housing. Come prepared with:

  • A copy of your Rental Termination Notice
  • Completed Premises Condition/Inventory Form (signed by Landlord)
  • A set of PCS orders.

We will complete the forms for your OHA Stop and advise you on your TLA reimbursement.  You will be cleared from vMPF and/or the checklist provided by you.  Out-processing can be done during regular walk-in hours.

The Housing Office is closed on the 2nd Wednesday of each month as well as on German & American Holidays.
