Army Birthday Serving Heroes Military Appreciation Meal

The Gary Sinise Foundation in partnership with Family and MWR presents a free “Serving Heroes” appreciation meal June 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sembach Community Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. In recognition of the U.S Army’s 251st Birthday, this special meal honors the dedication, service, and sacrifice of our soldiers. This buffet-style meal is open to all U.S & Allied, Active-Duty Service Members, Veterans and First Responders. This is a part of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s heartfelt mission to honor “Our Defenders, Veterans, First Responders & Their Families.”  Come enjoy a classic American meal and connect with others in a spirit of gratitude and community. 500/1000 Pound Club

Registration for the 500/1000 Pound Club is now to June 13 at the Kleber Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 3235 on Kleber Kaserne. The event is on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Registration is in-person at the Kleber PFC. Open to all Military ID Card Holders, Civilians ID Card Holders, and Local National (LN) ID card holders 18 years and older (not enrolled in High School or CYS).  This event is introducing 1300LB Club (Men) / 750LB Club (Women): Shirts are awarded for this Elite Club. U.S. Army 251st Birthday Golf Scramble

Registration for the U.S. Army 251st Birthday Golf Scramble is now to June 14. The birthday scramble will be Sunday, June 14, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne.  This is a nine-hole golf scramble. Cost is $25 for those who register for the scramble BEFORE June 6 and $30 for those who register from June 7 to 14. Tee time is 2 p.m. The birthday celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature a barbecue, refreshments, and a complimentary piece of birthday cake. Be festive and wear black and gold! Pulaski Auto Skills POV Resale Auction

75/250 German American Friendship Festival

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz and the City of Baumholder will host a joint three-day festival July 3 to 5 to commemorate 75 years of German American partnership in Baumholder and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Everyone is invited to attend. The festival will take place at the Baumholder Army Airfield and will include military static displays, amusement rides, food and beverage vendors, live entertainment and a July 4 fireworks show. Armed Forces Entertainment BRELAND Show

A headlining Armed Forces Entertainment performance by BRELAND will highlight the 75/250 German/American Friendship Festival from July 3 to 5 at the Baumholder Army Airfield. The multi-platinum artist, known for blending country, hip-hop, R&B and gospel, will perform for U.S. service members and their families as part of his partnership with AFE. Get Outdoors with Army ODR Virtual Contest

MWReligible patrons can enjoy time outside during the Get Outdoors with Army Outdoor Recreation virtual contest open through Oct. 31. Each completed activity or equipment rental at Baumholder or Kaiserslautern ODR earns an entry into monthly prize drawings. Participants must submit the official online form for every qualifying action. Winners are announced the second Friday after each month. Family Fundays at Baumholder Recreation Center

The Baumholder Recreation Center, Bldg. 8218 on Smith Barracks, hosts its monthly Family Funday every second Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring a handson craft, a family movie on the big screen and free popcorn. Craft kits are free but limited, and registration is required by the Wednesday prior at usag_rp_bmc_rec_ctr@army.mil. Craft previews are posted on the Baumholder Recreation Center Facebook Group. Volunteer Coaches Needed

Child and Youth Services is seeking volunteer coaches and officials to support KMC military youth sports programs. Volunteers can earn service hours, receive full CYS/NAYS training and complete a guided background check process. Coaches’ children play free or at a discounted rate after the season concludes. Open roles include head coach, assistant coach and volunteer officials for sports such as soccer, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, cheer, wrestling and more. Landstuhl Youth Center Summer Trips

Get ready for the best summer ever! The Landstuhl Youth Center is offering a summer trip series that’s all about fun, friends, and adventure. From the week of June 15 through the week of Aug. 10, they’ll lead exciting excursions twice a week. Registration opens Monday, May 18, and runs thru the summer. Participants can look forward to new places, new experiences, and even two multi-day trips, making it a summer they’ll never forget! “Fittest Games” Competition

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Family and MWR will host its “Fittest Games” competition July 25 from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Minick Field at Smith Barracks in Baumholder. Up to 40 participants may register June 15–July 23. A safety brief and course walk-through will begin at 9:45 a.m., with competition starting at 10 a.m. The timed “Hyrox/Crossfit” styled functional fitness competition includes nine exercises, with judges tracking repetitions, form and overall time. Male and female categories will award first-, second- and third-place winners, with all participants receiving T-shirts and top finishers earning medals and grand prizes. SKIES Irish Dance Classes

Register your child now for SKIES Unlimited Irish Dance Classes for ages 4 to 18 at the SKIES Bldg. 3819 on Landstuhl Post. Summer camps are currently offered for the following dates: June 15, 16 and 18, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and June 29 to July 2, July 6 to 9, July 13 to 16, and July 20 to 23, Monday to Thursday. Dungeons and Dragons Club

Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post, has a new after-school Dungeons and Dragons club every Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The next one is June 18. The program is open to ages 8 and older with registration required due to limited space. Intro to Flag Football Camp

Enrollment is open now through June 30 for an introductory flag football camp that will teach children ages 5 and 6 the fundamentals of the sport in a positive, high-energy environment. Camp is from July 28 to Aug. 6. The instructional program focuses entirely on skills and drills for beginners, requiring no seasonal league commitments. Participants must remain 6 years old or younger through the camp’s conclusion on Aug. 6. Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
