75/250 German American Friendship Festival

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz and the City of Baumholder will host a joint three-day festival July 3 to 5 to commemorate 75 years of German American partnership in Baumholder and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Everyone is invited to attend. The festival will take place at the Baumholder Army Airfield and will include military static displays, amusement rides, food and beverage vendors, live entertainment and a July 4 fireworks show. Armed Forces Entertainment BRELAND Show

A headlining Armed Forces Entertainment performance by BRELAND will highlight the 75/250 German/American Friendship Festival from July 3 to 5 at the Baumholder Army Airfield. The multi-platinum artist, known for blending country, hip-hop, R&B and gospel, will perform for U.S. service members and their families as part of his partnership with AFE. Get outdoors with Army ODR virtual contest

MWReligible patrons can enjoy time outside during the Get Outdoors with Army Outdoor Recreation virtual contest open through Oct. 31. Each completed activity or equipment rental at Baumholder or Kaiserslautern ODR earns an entry into monthly prize drawings. Participants must submit the official online form for every qualifying action. Winners are announced the second Friday after each month. Bay Rental Special

Family and MWR Automotive Skills Centers on Smith Barracks in Baumholder, and Landstuhl Post and Pulaski Barracks in Kaiserslautern are offering a $2 discount on all bay fees for E-5 and below military service members throughout July. The promotion applies to active-duty, reserve and retired personnel. The centers aim to make vehicle maintenance more accessible for lower-enlisted service members. Summer Reading Celebration

The Landstuhl Library will host a Summer Reading Celebration on July 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. The event will showcase games, activities, crafts, prizes and other family-friendly offerings. The program is open to families. Landstuhl Youth Center Summer Trips

Get ready for the best summer ever! The Landstuhl Youth Center is offering a summer trip series that’s all about fun, friends, and adventure. Trips are happening now to the week of Aug. 10, they’ll lead exciting excursions twice a week. Registration opens Monday, May 18, and runs thru the summer. Participants can look forward to new places, new experiences, and even two multi-day trips, making it a summer they’ll never forget! SKIES Irish Dance Classes

Register your child now for SKIES Unlimited Irish Dance Classes for ages 4 to 18 at the SKIES Bldg. 3819 on Landstuhl Post. Summer camps are currently offered for the following dates: June 29 to July 2, July 6 to 9, July 13 to 16, and July 20 to 23, Monday to Thursday. Family Fundays at Baumholder Recreation Center

The Baumholder Recreation Center, Bldg. 8218 on Smith Barracks, hosts its monthly Family Funday every second Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring a handson craft, a family movie on the big screen and free popcorn. Craft kits are free but limited, and registration is required by the Wednesday prior at usag_rp_bmc_rec_ctr@army.mil. Craft previews are posted on the Baumholder Recreation Center Facebook Group. Volunteer Coaches Needed

Child and Youth Services is seeking volunteer coaches and officials to support KMC military youth sports programs. Volunteers can earn service hours, receive full CYS/NAYS training and complete a guided background check process. Coaches’ children play free or at a discounted rate after the season concludes. Open roles include head coach, assistant coach and volunteer officials for sports such as soccer, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, cheer, wrestling and more. Intro to Flag Football Camp

Enrollment is open now through June 30 for an introductory flag football camp that will teach children ages 5 and 6 the fundamentals of the sport in a positive, high-energy environment. Camp is from July 28 to Aug. 6. The instructional program focuses entirely on skills and drills for beginners, requiring no seasonal league commitments. Participants must remain 6 years old or younger through the camp’s conclusion on Aug. 6. Dungeons and Dragons Club

Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post, has a new after-school Dungeons and Dragons club every Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The next one is June 25. The program is open to ages 8 and older with registration required due to limited space. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club

Patrons can learn Two-Step and other dance styles with the free beginner dance lessons now to Aug. 13.  This is the final season for this program. These classes are open sessions, once a week, until Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. There will also be line-dance workshops offered on selected Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club. KMC BOSS Thrift Savings Plan Class

A lifeskills class on Thrift Savings Plan for KMC Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers is set for 1 p.m. on July 10 at Army Community Service, Room 207, Bldg. 3210 on Kleber Kaserne. The session, hosted by ACS, offers 20 available spots for participants. Paint & Sip “Summer Fun in the Sun”

A Paint & Sip “Summer Fun in the Sun” event will take place July 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. for adults 18 and older. The session costs $30 and includes one complimentary wine or nonalcoholic drink. Legoland KMC BOSS Trip

A Kaiserslautern BOSS trip to Legoland Deutschland Resort is scheduled for July 11, with registration open through July 10. The group will depart at 8 a.m. from Bldg. 277 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, and 18 spots are available. Eligible soldiers may register through the KMC BOSS WhatsApp group using the QR code on flyers or at kaiserslautern.armymwr.com. Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
