9/11 Remembrance 5K Run

Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show

Registration for the Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show is now to Sep. 19. Cost is $10 per vehicle. The car show is Sep. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Pulaski Park on Pulaski Barracks. Car-show participation for judging and prizes are open to all military affiliated ID card holders with or without SOFA status, to include active duty, reserve, retired, veteran, family member, and DOD/DA/DAF civilians. There will be 5 categories: Best European; Best Muscle Car; Best American Car; Best JDM and Best Old Timer (must be 25 years or older). Landstuhl CYS Job Fair

Child & Youth Services will hold an in-person job fair Sep. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812 on Landstuhl Post. CYS is hiring Child and Youth Program Assistants for Miesau, Landstuhl, Kleber and Sembach, offering a $1,200 hiring bonus for eligible applicants, childcare discounts, noncompetitive promotions, salary increases and early childhood education scholarship opportunities. Open to all ID card holders. Job seekers can build their network by connecting with government agencies and contractors. Applicants will learn about local resources, volunteering and ACS Services. AFE Flag Football & Stripes

Armed Forces Entertainment will present Flag Football & Stripes, a free event, on Tuesday, Sep. 22, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Minick Field, Smith Barracks in Baumholder. Youth activities run from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by adult sessions from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Youth, ages 5 to 18, should register through Baumholder Child, Youth and School Services by visiting Parent Central Services, Bldg. 8876, or calling 0611-143-531-3440. Registration opens Sep. 8. Participants should wear athletic attire, bring water and be prepared to train with select U.S. National Team players. CYS Parents Day Out / Parents Night Out Events

Registration is open now until Sep. 11 for the Baumholder and Kaiserslautern CYS Parents Day Out/Parents Night Out on Sep. 18 from 6:30 to 11 p.m.  The cost is $36. The locations are Smith CDC in Baumholder and Landstuhl CDC 1. The Youth Centers in Landstuhl and Baumholder will be hosting late night activities during that time, which could be either a field trip (for Parent’s Day Out) or a late-night activity. Future Night Out and Day Out dates:  Dec. 12, Parent’s Day Out, 8 to 5 p.m.– Register by Nov. 30; Feb. 13, Parent’s Night Out, 5 to 11 p.m.– Register by Feb. 1; and May 22, Parent’s Day Out, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.– Register by May 10. FANTOBER:  The Hunger Games Scavenger Hunt

Baumholder Library will host FANTOBER: The Hunger Games Scavenger Hunt from Oct. 1–31 across Smith Barracks. Participants can pick up a 13task tracking card at the library and complete activities at designated on base facilities to earn stamps or stickers. Those who finish all tasks may return their completed card for a raffle ticket and a chance to win the Panem Prize Pack, timed with the release of the new Hunger Games film, Sunrise on the Reaping. The scavenger hunt challenges patrons to navigate multiple locations, complete themed activities and test their resourcefulness in a monthlong competition. Fantober at the Landstuhl Library

Landstuhl Library will celebrate Fantober with sci-fi themed programs Oct. 1 to 31 at Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. Visitors can explore science fiction books, movies and activities throughout the month, along with weekly Fantober themed storytimes and programs. The library will host a family friendly surprise sci-fi movie screening Oct. 22 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., with a G/PG rating and popcorn included. Beetlejuice Jr. Performances

Beetlejuice Jr., a youth musical based on the Tim Burton film, will run Oct. 16–18, 23–25 and 30, and Nov. 1, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m. (No show on Oct. 31.) at KMC Onstage, Bldg. 3232 on Kleber Kaserne. Tickets cost $20, with $15 pricing for youth, seniors and students. Season tickets are also available. Swashbuckling Class

Swashbuckling Class will run every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Oct. 19 through Nov. 25, at KMC Onstage, Bldg. 3232 on Kleber Kaserne. The program teaches participants age 16 and older the fundamentals of theatrical sword fighting, with classes priced at $15 each or $150 for the full 12class series. The class introduces basic stage combat techniques used to create safe and dynamic swordfighting scenes for theater and film. Inspired by The Three Musketeers, the course welcomes beginners and those preparing for upcoming productions, offering instruction in footwork, partnering, and choreographed dueling. Wine and Yoga

Uncork and Unwind: Wine and Yoga is Thursday, Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. The 18-and-over event offers a relaxing evening with one hour of guided yoga followed by a social hour.  Admission is $18 and includes two glasses of wine. Participants must bring their own yoga mats. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just looking to unwind after a long day, this event offers the perfect blend of movement and mindfulness. Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
