***image1***Ramstein Tax Center, in Bldg. 2137, is open for business and volunteers are available to help customers use MilitaryOneSource.com’s free tax software, TaxCut.

Customers need to bring all of the proper documents and information needed to file the tax returns, including Social Security cards for clients, spouses and dependents, all W-2’s and any other tax information on income received in 2007, Individual Retirement Account contribution information, records of educational expenses, bank account numbers and routing numbers for direct deposit, and a copy of last year’s federal/state returns if available.

“Being involved in the tax filing process will give our customers a better understanding of their returns,” said Capt. Mary Ellen Payne, 435th Air Base Wing Legal Office.

If you can’t make it to the tax center during office hours, you can access MilitaryOneSource.com and TaxCut 24 hours a day, seven days a week or you can call a MOS tax adviser at 1-800-730-3802.

This program is for active-duty members, reservists and Department of Defense civilians or dependents. Retirees who are not DOD civilians can receive tax assistance by calling the tax center.

The tax center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. For more information about the tax program, call 480-1040 or e-mail taxcenter@ramstein.af.mil.
