Chiefs’ corner
The Ramstein Area Chiefs’ Group recently had the pleasure of awarding two SHARP Awards to members of the 435th Medical Support Squadron.

Senior Airman Katie Shields, a Family Member Relocations coordinator, and Senior Airman Danielle Motley, working personnel liason in the Commander’s Action Group, were recognized by the chiefs as exceedingly sharp Airmen.

Airman Shields was presented the award on behalf of Chief Master Sgt. Rick Armstead, who nominated her for her “above and beyond attitude and performance” when she tirelessly worked a command sponsorship issue for one of his Airmen. She researched every facet of the process, eventually ensuring full medical coverage for the birth of their baby, saving the member thousands of dollars in medical costs and personal hardship.

Airman Motley was presented the award on behalf of Chief Master Sgt. Dan Todtenhagen, who recognized her for her “outstanding customer-oriented service and never-falterering professionalism.” Her ability to meet every chall-enge head-on with such a posi-tive attitude not only impacts those she serves, but also those she serves alongside.

As part of the SHARP Award package, both Airmen received a plaque, coin and certificates on behalf of the Chiefs’ Group as well as a $200 savings bond and discount certificate from Pentagon Car Sales.
